Urban Tadka is pretty much located in-the-middle-of-nowhere being on a fairly main road towards the northern end of Sydney, set well back and therefore hidden from the street and with little to nothing near it, especially at night. It is a must-drive location as there is no public transport and a taxi/uber from/to anywhere would be a decent fare. There is plenty of parking close to the restaurant so driving is not an issue. It's popularity is obvious as it was full and therefore we were glad that we had booked.Where we were expecting a standard suburban restaurant Urban Tadka is large and with lovely decor, semi-open kitchen and large windows out to the small garden. This would have to be the best Indian food I've ever had! Our first surprise was to find one of our favourite wines - Paracombe Pinot Gris - on the wine list. And the price was reasonable. We started with HARRE BHARRE CHAMAN KE Tukde - vegetarian croquets (delicious!) and shared mains of SAMUNDARI PRAWN Malabar and MURGH Mughlai - the old favourite Butter Chicken - accompanied by rice and plain naan. The flavours were balanced with just the right amount of spices. Everything was awesome! I would have rated ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ if all the waiters were like Sochit. He's a good waiter who appears to enjoy his job... the others could work on a bit of personality and interaction or at least a smile when se...
Impromptu plan for a short lunch lead us to Urban Tadka. The restaurant itself is nestled in the calm suburb of Terrey Hills. The fine dining specialised in Indian cuisine has a good array of dishes. As we weren't really very hungry, the menu wasn't tested extensively. But what was tested was enough to give confidence in the tastefulness of this place.Kurkuri chat was not only a delight to the eyes but also to the tastebuds. Bukni Mirch Ka Malai Tikka lived up to the claims in the menu. The bread basket had a delicious ensemble of the stuffed naans which unfortunately paled the Dewane-E-Khaas (Note, this curry was yum but the naans were just good on their own).Biryani and desserts are on the b...
We visited this place with family and friends. We had been earlier but decided to do a group dinner because the food is good and they are blessed with a beautiful ambience. Despite doing preorders the service was slow and took a while. The biggest shock was in the end when it came to clearing the bill, we were advised to pay in cash which was never advised at the time of booking. This was very frustrating as we were quite unprepared to pay cash for 15 of us. I would have given it 4 stars but struck them all off because of lack of customer service. Reserva una mesa ahora
Visited Urban Tadka for my wife's birthday. We found the food very good, loads of variety catering for spice loves to those who prefer little spice. Also gluten free, dairy free and vegan dishes.Great atmosphere and good service.Meals a little slow for a Tuesday, but all good.BYO.Drinks a little on the pricy side with beers $9-10.We had a plentiful meal for 4 with 4 entrees, 4 mains and condiments plus a beer each for just over $60/head.Lots of parking, just be careful turning off mona vale road as the turn appears suddenly.
Went to this Indian restaurant for the first time last week after hearing so many good things about the food. It certainly did not disappoint. My husband and I love Indian food and this is the best we have had in Sydney ! Sorry all the other indian restaurants.... Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was fantastic, with lots of different flavours and different heat levels....Excellent. If you like a good curry, you have to go here.
Once you find this restaurant, you'll find it is very lovely. We got quite lost trying to follow the instructions of our friends, as it's quite hidden from the main road address. The food is very good - somewhat spicy - but not as hot as many other Indian restaurants. Everything is beautifully served and the restaurant is very pleasant and comfortable. It was nice to be able to hear everyone, as it is not noisy like other restaurants.
What a shame. Been going since the week they opened, great setting, excellent food but they just priced themselves off our list. Also seem to have reduced portion size and now ban BYO on Friday and Saturday. $10.50 for a popadom, $90 for the mixed appetiser, $60 for a HALF bottle of sparkling ? Those prices are simply ridiculous. Sorry to say good bye but we refuse to support these price increases and ban on BYO you have introduced. Reserva una mesa ahora
Put simply, this is how restaurants should be run. From go to whoa, the experience was first class. Lovely polite staff, not stress to order quickly, wonderful explanations of dishes we had not seen before; and the food... well, it was delicious. This is not a cheap night out, but it was worth every cent. Highly recommended.
The food is good, the ambience is great... nice place to have a family dinner or friends having a night out. The prices are high as compared to normal indian restaurants in Sydney.
