After dining there last night and now reading the absolutely appalling response my colleague received I believe it would be more than appropriate to provide some further points since apparently the extremely condescending service that we received in store carries across to how they take on feedback. Asked for a second bottle of wine after sharing one with two people and Philippe would not give us another one. The first bottle was 7.1 standard drinks, 3.05 per person over two hours. Both the lady and Phillipe came out at seperare times asking to see the ID of every person at the table even though only 3 of us were drinking. I have my RSA as does a lot of people at this work dinner, we paid for the bill and left straight away to continue the night instead of spending another $150+ for another round.
A gem party of 11 last Saturday night. We each had 3 courses sampling much of the menu. Everything was delicious and the service amazing. After a recent move to Balmain we were looking for a venue for a special venue for a family celebration. Came across Vatel and after discussions with Philippe we had our venue. The service was attentive with great timing between courses. Everyone in the restaurant seemed really happy. I can’t wait to go back.
I have dined at Vatel twice in the last month. And am thoroughly impressed. The wait staff are very knowledgeable friendly and attentive. The food is delicious and the best produce is used. Presentation of the dishes is excellent. And the portions are generous. Will go back again and again. And the atmosphere is quaint with monet on the walls and dim lighting. Service: Dine in

Absolutely fantastic service and food was devine. In addition, I had left one of my earbuds behind by accident. They called every single booking on the night to find the rightful owner. This is one establishment I will be back again and again. The follow up on the earbud just shows the pride they have in service excellence. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$60–80
