The staff at this restaurant are very knowledgeable about cross-contamination but do not have a separate kitchen. I made it clear that I have an allergy (Celiac) and was informed that there is no 100% guarantee of avoiding contamination without a separate kitchen. The menu includes a section for gluten-free options and another for "Milder Gluten Sensitivities", but I would advise those with Celiac disease to avoid ordering from the latter. Despite being an extremely sensitive celiac, I ordered a rainbow bowl which seemed to be the safest option and felt fine after eating. It is important to be cautious when ordering and I also took a gluteguard tablet before my meal, which may have helped.
I have been a fan of Wahaca for many years! I have visited this location numerous times and it never fails to impress. The staff is highly knowledgeable and even have a manager take allergen orders at the table. All dishes are clearly marked with flags indicating whether they are gluten-free or allergen-friendly. While the kitchen is not entirely gluten-free and there is a possibility of contamination, I have dined here for years with no issues. They offer gluten-free tortilla chips as an alternative to the regular ones, which are fried in a shared fryer. The food is absolutely amazing!
I’m not sure if I just went on an off night but the waitress told me they couldn’t accommodate for gluten cross contamination. I was really excited to eat here after seeing the great reviews. But no manager ever came to speak to me like the other reviews said. I asked her to double check with the manager and she did. She was nice about it but the whole interaction didn’t fill me with enough confidence to eat here. We ended up leaving without eating.
I've been here before and everything was great. They advised they can't 100% prevent cross contamination but would do everything they can. Went along tonight and the manager was quite insistent about the cross contamination and she advised the kitchen don't use a separate grill for gf or she couldn't guarantee they'd wipe down prep areas before handing gf food.

They don’t guarantee no cross contamination, but the waiter was knowledgeable and they take precautions and separate their GF menu into celiac safe vs intolerance GF dishes. I felt very safe and the food was tasty. My dishes came out marked and they paid special care even though I was in a big group
Very good GF menu, staff are really well educated too! They can’t promise there is no cross contamination, however they are still really onto it with allergies I felt super safe eating here!
Great food, great place You order your gf food by the manager, and small flags show which food are gf. A menu card only with glutenfree food.
Delicious food! Plenty of gluten-free options. A manager comes out to take your order if you tell them, you have a food allergy or celiac.

The food was amazing and there were plenty of great choices on the menu. The waiter was very attentive to my gluten-free dietary needs.
