This has to be one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had in Canberra. And it's surprising because I can count on one hand the number of dining places in Canberra I have experienced that warrant an absolutely disappointing review of the food. Unfortunately this makes the list. We had friends visiting from interstate who wanted to experience snow and they have two little boys so we went to Corin Forest for sledding, etc.. So when we wanted to get something to eat we were quite hungry from all the activity. A cosy place with a pub feel to it. The service is a bit disorganised and there can ve a bit of a wait to make your order at the bar. Multiple ootions to sit, inside and out and the views are great. The food is good, however the price point not matched, and its a bit pricey. Food can sometimes be a bit of a miss and hence the kitchen and service staff need to up their game, they have a great location and can make a huge impact overall. The aranichi was okay, a bit bland. The calamari was nice. Burgers are okay.
It is a very beautiful restaurant with a nice view over the lake. But the problem is the food. I had lunch on a Monday and there where only 5 people in the restaurant and still the chef made a mistake on my burger, he forgot the onion rings in it. Then I order a aioli sauce and also if I asked for it many times it never arrived.... also if I could see the chef having a smoke break or doing nothing in the kitchen. I could understand to make mistake if the restaurant was busy, but like I already said we were in 5 people, so I am very disappointed.
What a location. A nice fit out....spectacular views west to the lake..... why is it so dissapointing?? To be honest I'm not sure. The staff are friendly, and the interior has a warm feeling to it..... but it just doesn't feel like it has a sole. Harsh words... but they are not meant to be. I haven't had a good meal here yet, and the drinks are expensive.... surely that can't be what the issue that makes it the 2nd choice bar on the Kingston foreshore... Or perhaps it is that simple.

Had a quiet Sunday afternoon drink with a few friends at Walt & Burley. Great location and beautiful views of the lake. Wasn't too busy either which was a bonus although it did start to pick up around dinner time. Drinks were good but more on the expensive side (2 rose, one pint of Petoni and a mocktail came to $46). We ordered some food as well. Aranchini was good. Chips were ok. The onion rings were much too oily. Overall a good experience. Would go back.
It has a great location and that's where the positives end. The staff member who served us had such a bad attitude and was rude, the wines by the glass are way overpriced and the service in general was lousy. The music was also so loud that we couldn't really have a conversation without raising our voices. We were really disappointed.
Ordered 2 Caesar salads and they came with unwashed lettuce, a stale cheese stick and no procuitto. We asked where it was and she went to check if it was missing . She came and apologised and after 10 mins we received a bowl of parcooked whole bacon rashers. Not good for the price at all. Tables were dirty and sticky.
We chose this restaurant for brunch as it had plenty of space available for our party of eight.Our meals took ages to come despite there being relatively few patrons.And a couple of orders were mucked up.The glass of Coke at $4 was s bit pricey.But food was good and the hard worostaff sorted the errors.

Been here for a feed a few times, food has always been nice, lots of good nibble food and a good range, would recommend heading down there for a catchup with friends over some food.
I went to this place with family for brunch. Not enough staff and food a little slow to come. Not too bad I guess.
