This is one of my favorite spots in the Birmingham area. The restaurant offers a unique fusion of Spanish and Asian cuisines. The 420 nachos are exceptionally delicious and satisfying; I usually order them every time I visit. I've also tried the dishes at the 280 location, and both are outstanding. With a variety of options on the menu, I’m sure everyone can find something they’ll enjoy. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi and is looking to try something different.
Do you like sushi but feel like you never get enough to satisfy the intense craving you have? Well look no further. Think an egg roll the size of a burrito. But filled with rice, sushi and all kinds of other goodies. If copious amounts of sushi aren't your thing, they also have some bangin street tacos and loaded sushi nachos. Fantastic family friendly atmosphere with genuinely happy staff and the prices aren't bad for the portion sizes you get. Expect to spend around $15/person.
Hmm… not the wow kind of food, nor too bad either. Decent food. More of fusion food. Tried one of their cooked burritos; came with nice little chips and salsa. Portion size was decent too. But I am not sure if I want to go back again and try something from their menu again. Btw, they don’t have a lot of vegetarian options besides hippie nachos) but they I think they’ll substitute the protein with veggie of your choice. Parking could be a challenge at this location.
I had a great experience at the restaurant thanks to a friendly and helpful staff member at the order window who guided me through the menu and made excellent recommendations. The Hippy Burrito, accompanied by a side of cucumber, was fresh and light, perfectly spiced, flavorful, and offered a delightful mix of textures. The Sushi Burrito was a fun option, but I found myself really enjoying the simple cucumber salad that came with a light sprinkle of sesame seeds. Reserva una mesa ahora
I haven't eaten here since it was in the Hoover area. The food was really delicious. However, I feel like it wasn't very filling. Maybe the burritos should be made slightly bigger? Or maybe more chips and salsa as the cups of salsa are very small. I live in the Shelby county area and its very unfortunate it has moved further away and closes at 8pm rather than 9 or 10pm. Other than those few dislikes, the food is pretty flavorful and good.
Yesssss I’ve been waiting for something like this my whole life! We started with the 4:20 nachos and I’ve never had anything quite like them. Although the chips are Doritos lol. The flavors combined so well on my tongue. I had the ignition raw burrito and my boyfriend had the Austin burrito w/ chips and salsa. You definitely gotta go. They have Keto and vegetarian options too. I love the concept and it made sushi exciting again.
I've been a fan of Wasabi Juan since they were in Avondale, before they moved downtown. I stopped by yesterday and tried the South Beach Burrito with steak, which is a change from my usual favorite, the Blazer Burrito with grilled chicken. They continue to impress with their burritos—they're so delicious that I couldn't get enough of it! I'll definitely be returning for more of these burritos. Check out the image below.
Excellent! My teenage daughter and I discovered this place a few months ago. The food is great, staff is extremely friendly and it’s clean! Today I went back, and my daughter had a meltdown because she spilled her entire plate in the car and the owner was so sweet to replace it. Good concept, poorly executed. Got the burrito with steak and shrimp. Very uneven and not a lot of protein for the price. Steak was warm-ish. Shrimp was cold. Neither was seasoned. The mango slaw isn't what it sounds like... it's just regular coleslaw with chunks of mango. They should change the name.
