On 8/10/22, I purchased two breakfast orders. One order of waffles and bacon from Store #8071 in zip code 19462. I shop here weekly enroute to a client meeting. The order was mostly black and burnt to a crisp. Totally unedible. Today, 8/11/22, I 'm in zip code 19046 for a weekly allergy shot. I tried to return the horrible meal to the Wawa at 816 Old York Road which is directly across the street from my allergist. The manager Shannon, whose badge said, training manager stated that she was the manager, when I asked for a higher ranking manager (i.e. her manager) she then stated that she was actually the General Manager, and no one was above her. I totally get how businesses, and even WAWA are...
This used to be my favorite Wawa, but unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. The staff seems to lack motivation and often doesn’t do their job properly. Unless the general manager or an older manager is present, the drink machines at the kiosks are manually turned off because the employees are too lazy to make the drinks. The cleanliness of the bathrooms has also declined. Most importantly, they allow customers into the store without face masks and do not enforce social distancing guidelines. The night shift is unprofessional and unproductive. Additionally, they block off the bathrooms for 4-5 hours between 1-5/6 AM, which is frustrating since the store is supposed to be open 24/7. I was never treated in such a manner. I was told that if I was paying credit to go to self serve. People of a different shade of skin from mine weren’t told the same. And when I addressed that I wanted to buy tobacco I should have said something. Regardless I should have been taken at the register after waiting in line like everyone else. When will people see a person for being a person rather than skin color? Never again!
I had the worst experience at Wawa today. I ordered two toasted bagels with cream cheese, and to my disappointment, there was hardly any cream cheese on them, just a faint hint. When I asked the manager about it, she told me it was fine because she doesn’t like too much cream cheese on her bagels. I ordered a 24 oz frozen chai and a 16 oz hot chai, but what I received was completely wrong. They couldn’t even make the drinks correctly. I had to wait for the manager to sort it out, and he remade my drinks. When he handed them to me, I asked him why the initial order was wrong, and he simply shrugged his shoulders. It was a waste of my time, and I didn’t even get an apology.
The guy, I believe, an old white male with glasses, possibly brian wearing a Wawa uniform doing some maintenance, didn't hold the door for the customer behind him. That's not the Wawa way. That's probably the only place in the Philadelphia area where people extend the courtesy. That's the only thing we have left in Abington/Jenkintown.
