We were pointed to our table, but not told that we had to order via the QR code app. When I tried...to put the order through it wouldn’t work and then I was told that it was because we were ordering brunch meals and it was past midday but that was what was on the app menu... The actual lunchtime menu is small and a lot of the meals are more dinner meals than light lunches. It is astounding how reliably bad the service is. I gave this place a poor review six years ago, but as a local I decided to give it another try due to its primo position on the beach. There is no indication as to whether...one should seat oneself or not, or if there is table service or not, and I stood at the bar for five minutes whilst two staff ignored me, playing on their phones. 'Excuse me... I asked, to which one raised a finger, uttering a terse Gimme a sec , eyes never leaving his iPhone. Once we managed to get drinks, at the table, a carpenter took a hammer and chisel (literally) to the next table, repeatedly bashing it, so loud my ears hurt. To make a reservation at West Pavillion was asking way too much. After numerous phone calls, not one was returned. I went in twice in-person, both times they were flustered when there was next to no-one there, not unlike Fawlty Towers. On the actual day,...we were double-booked. I had enquired about Devonshire Teas, been assured this was daily, as I had a brother in his 80's and emphasised I wanted him seated comfortably. Whilst there were no functions on, there were no tables inside. He got horribly sunburnt and no-one offered to assist with an umbrella and he was on a hard metal chair until I sought out a cushion myself. Overall, a big mistake. It's had its day.
had such a terrible experience last week in this restaurant. an online booking made, no contact made to advise a commemorative service that is held this day, would like to have changed the location if I knew. had visited family of wa, so the table offered, although. in a dingy area, had lunch and were then asked to speak quieter (we were not loud) and go if we did not like it. it was said that they noticed my booking only at 11 o'clock this day. would never visit this place or recommend to anyone. had no response to an email that was sent to them before days.

Very unfriendly service. Waited in “wait for table line”. Was first ignored and then asked what I want? Well what could it be when waiting in that line? Put my name on the waiting list for a table but never heard back. Not the first...time but thought I give it another chance as the owners were new but still not a great experience. It’s a shame as the location is so nice but since the new owners are in charge it’s not the same anymore and wouldn’t recommend it.
Never, avoid that the menu is less choice than any local caffe and it is quite expensive. when they have a table, everything began to be in order and suddenly they play something rapp so loud that we did not deserve the meal summer! we played 4 times to play it but they don't care about their customers. they forgot the coffee and the fries were floppy! never again. please find the image of my neighbour
the location is fantastic. directly on the beach. the bought food was delicious. order over the app on table that was easy. unfortunately they charge a surcharge on our bill of about $18, which I had to hunt for a refund. also 3% credit. card fee nice, but much more expensive than before. also no great selection of food. the personal was helpful.
Disaster from start to finish! Everything went wrong for this venue. No organisation. Waited for everything. Food wasn’t great (what little we received) no sides came with mains! Potato that was plated was cold and beef Wellington was warm and dry. Decided not to wait...for dessert. Tables were walking out before we left. 3 hours of chaos!!!!

This venue has so much potential but unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. The food is average but the real let down is the staff, of course not all however the service is just not up to scratch. And trying to charge customers to...sit at the “beach club” area is laughable. We are local St Kilda residents and we won’t be back
a really great Sunday afternoon chill out with a brilliant 2 pieces band, great food and drinks. so a relaxing place on the beach
