Sunday lunch 26th Feb 2023. From start to finish The White Horse gave everything to make your eating experience, one to remember. Booked for 5 people, this was our first time here and cannot recommend this place highly enough. We had 2 beef dinners, 2 pork dinners and a prawn tempura. There was nothing on the plates when we had finished. The beef (mine) was cooked to perfection and the pork (wife) was very tasty. The vegetables were seasonal and crisp, the roast potatoes were fantastic. The Yorkshire pudding was big but manageable. The staff were really pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going back here. Loved everything about our meal, staff and cost.
We just popped in to have a quick bite to eat and were pleasantly surprised at how lovely the pub was. Very Farrow and Ball paintwork and lots of light. A nice, friendly, mixed crowd of couples, families, and locals just eating and drinking. We sat in the conservatory and just ordered some drinks and sandwiches. Not cheap, but well worth it, even at £10. Sandwiches were well presented and came with triple fried chips, gravy, and apple sauce for the roast Pork and tartare sauce for the fish butty . Staff were very pleasant and helpful and you were made very welcome and not rushed. Highly recommended and will go again .
Just back from birthday meal for our eldest daughter. Fabulous food as ever, great atmosphere lovely gin selection A huge thanks also for such a super effort made by everyone to make the birthday girl feel special. Very kind very much appreciated. Thank you!
We have been here a few times now for drinks and food and it’s such a lovely pub, great atmosphere, friendly staff and the food is to die for! Wouldn’t go to any other pub in the village this is our go to when we stay here. Can’t wait to return next year :

Had a great night here for my wife's birthday with family. Chris and Maria and their staff gave excellent service and food from start to finish. Good gluten free options and I would highly recommend and we will be back in a few days for a Sunday lunch.
Amazing food been twice already and love it fantastic atmosphere and lovely staff !!! Perfect well done love the place it looks awesome too , feel like I'm in the middle of york but only a walk home ! It's great well done
A warm welcome to the pub is always a good start. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. The food was fantastic which was shown by the empty plates. Everything was perfect. Including the company!
Amazing modern interior and lovely staff, had a Sunday dinner with the family generous portions of meat and impressive big homemade Yorkshires. Would go back for dessert too:

Came across by accident. Beautiful weather so ate outside in the lovely beer garden. Excellent food and good drinks. Highly recommended.
A not too large menu with a balanced range of fish, meat and others already speaks for a well thought-out kitchen....
