This charming bookshop is a peaceful retreat and truly a hidden gem in Waterloo. The Write Blend café located above the bookstore offers excellent service with a smile, welcoming atmosphere, and delicious cake. Today, I had the pleasure of delivering my bestselling books to be stocked by Bob, who graciously offered to display my titles - "A Light to Guide Us Home," "Angels Around Us," and my first children's book "Enchanted Tales of the Fairy Kingdom." Despite achieving success on Amazon, I am thrilled to be associated with Write Blend. This was our first visit, had a quick browse of the books on the ground floor, then took the lift up to the coffee shop. The lift is ideal for me as I am disabled . We both had an afternoon cream tea, the BOSS had a tuna sarnie, I had cheese, delish. You get a scone, cream , jam and a pot of tea. The lady who made them said it was the first time she had done so, but we couldn’t have told as they were fab. Nice big place with lots of comfy seating.
Since we all came out of lockdown was sad but understandable that the coffee room was not open until things go better and time right. Been a few times recently and felt safe and secure, we'll set out to rules and staff very attendant. One of a few places I have been able to go even in this new Boris bungle . If you need a bolt hole and a hot drink or more nip up.
After rushing back home, I was in need of a place to grab a quick meal. I had noticed a bookshop below the night before and discovered there was a coffee shop upstairs. The casual setting allowed me to unwind for as long as I needed. I enjoyed a delicious bacon sandwich, a cup of tea, and a newspaper to read. It was the perfect way to unwind.

What a nice concept there is the bookstore on the ground floor and a very pleasant cafe on the top floor. Only had a coffee and a hot chocolate (both very nice)there did seem to be a good selection of cakes available as well prices were about the going rate well worth a visit There is even a lift available!!
Lovely little place hidden in plain sight in Waterloo. Main coffee shop above a bookshop its all one place so you can actually sip your coffee downstairs whilst browsing the literature. I had an exceptional Mocha while I was there, would definitely recommend.
This is the sort of place you dream of stumbling across. When you discover it you realise how valuable proper bookshops are. There is no way Amazon can compete with great coffee friendly knowledgeable staff.
Had a meeting with a friend in here. Coffee is very good and nice selection of cakes. My only complaint is that they could turn the heating up a bit as I found it a bit chilly.

I received fantastic service every time from Naomi, the bar staff at The Albert on Lark Lane. She always had a huge smile on her face.
