My first time going to Yakitori Boy won't be the last. I made a reservation for 2 at 8:15pm on Friday. We arrived an hour early and were seated promptly it wasn't very busy. The decor inside was a little old. It has a rustic, Japanese feel to it. The menu is viewed through a QR code and drink orders are taken quickly. The food ... oh my gosh the food was so good! We ordered miso soup, sweet potato tempura, unagi nigiri, kani nigiri, salmon scallion skewer, bacon quail egg skewer, pork belly skewer, eggplant skewer, ribeye skewer, chicken karaage, and grilled squid. Everything but the squid (tough chewy, not served with tentacles) was just phenomenal! In my experience, many Japanese places th...

Decided to try this place during our visit for a bite before a show. This place was hard to find. The building was not labeled well. It was a lot smaller than I expected. We were quickly seated within a few minutes. We did have reservations. Waitress was the absolute best! She was super attentive and checked on us a lot. Each dish was brought pretty quick. We ordered: The chicken wings which were fried crunchy and seasoned good. We enjoyed them. We also ordered meatball kabobs which were ok. About the steak and chicken kabobs I typically like my meat cooked or grilled a little longer. The steak was ok but when I bit into the chicken, I had to remove it from my mouth and I asked them to take...

Yakitori Boy is a hidden gem that deserves recognition! The ambiance was delightful, with warm lighting and traditional decor that transported me to the streets of Tokyo. The star of the show, of course, was the yakitori. The skewers were perfectly grilled, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Each bite was a delightful combination of tender meat and savory seasonings. The menu offered a wide variety of options, catering to both meat lovers and vegetarians. The staff was attentive and friendly, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The prices were reasonable, considering the quality and portion sizes. I will definitely be returning to indulge in more of t...

The server downstairs was very kind and attentive. The sushi was okay, although not the best I’ve ever had. However, the bar upstairs was the worst karaoke experience I’ve ever had. The cover charge is 10 dollars and the drinks aren’t cheap either. We put in our song requests and our turn never came. Instead, the DJ played a bunch of songs no one asked for. When we pointed it out, he said we could pay him 20 dollars for our song request to be played. This place is a ripoff. Avoid it. Reserva una mesa ahora

Yakitori Boy used to be a great spot to go with friends for Karaoke and a taste of Japanese night life in Chinatown. The prices to enjoy these experiences have gotten insane. $10 cover. $5 to sing one song (considerably more to shorten the wait) and eye-watering drink prices. Also, minimums for private Karaoke rooms can easily get close to a grand. Unless you've got money to burn, I'd recommend trying to find something else to do, particularly on a Friday or Saturday night.

I went here after a big gaming tournament at Localhost with my teammates and fellow competitors and I cannot stress this enough that I had a wonderful time and made some new friends. The Yakitori was delicious and the restaurant was wonderful as well as the service. High recommendation if you're ever in Philly Chinatown.

Food was not as good as I remembered when I visited in 2019. Things were also 50%-100% more expensive. The chicken skewers were acceptable but the beef and lamb were tough and unappetizing, so much so that I did not even finish them. Salmon skewers and takoyakj were ok. Would not recommend and would not return.

SUPER FAST. I ordered thru Ubereats to my hotel and it arrived in 20 minutes. I ordered the alaska roll, spicy tuna the yellowtail. It’s super good and the rice has lots of flavor. I ate one of the rolls before I managed to take a picture… couldn’t resist. Reserva una mesa ahora

Yakitori from oven, not open fire if so, please grill a little longer. Pork broth “ramen” not deserved to be called ramen unfortunately. Generous portion of bamboo shoots tho, yet the broth is sad and tasteless and noodles are sticked to each other
