This charming little Japanese fish market is absolutely delightful. They offer a wide variety of snacks and drinks, along with freshly made sushi rolls displayed in fridges near the checkout, which can get a bit crowded as you choose your selections. The fresh fish section at the back of the market is neatly organized, and everything looks clean and fresh. The sushi rolls were delicious! The California rolls are particularly generous in size and taste amazing. The other rolls were also fantastic—simple, fresh, and flavorful. Best place ever!!! I would go almost every week when I lived nearby. Can be hard to miss but it's a must if you're in the area. Entrance is in the back. Parking is easy, they have their own lot and if full there is plenty of street or nearby lots that are a short walk. The fish is always so fresh. Go early as they will often times sell out by noon. Went around 2pm once and there was nothing left! It's very affordable too. The workers are very nice too! They will give you small bags of ice to keep your fish/sushi cold if you need it. The place itself is very small so it will get crowded in the morning so be prepared for that if you aren't a fan of people being in your personal bubble.
What a hidden gem! This is a must-visit spot in the 626 area! I absolutely loved how fresh the raw seafood selections are—it's the perfect place to satisfy your sashimi cravings. Equally important, the cleanliness of the establishment is top-notch. It's also a quaint Japanese market that offers a wide variety of sake, snacks, cookies, sauces, and sushi rolls. You can even order party trays from them! While the entrance might be a bit tricky to locate, you won't want to miss out on this fantastic place. I highly recommend it!
I love Yama Seafood! I found out about it a month ago and have been here numerous times already and told friends about it. The sushi rolls are reasonably priced, soo fresh and delicious, the rice can be refrigerated overnight and still be relatively soft, and there is a great variety of sushi, snacks, even stickers and stationary, dessert. I've been coming coming to Yama for over 25 years so this review is long overdue! Long before yelp reviews and way before TikTok Yama has been serving amazing quality sushi/sashimi along side the best service. Yama has changed its looks over the years and they keep adding different variety of snacks and goodies but one thing you can count on is the quality! So glad to see them thrive and continue to grow and serve our community all these years and that speaks volumes!
The service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was a bit cramped and crowded. Overall, I would rate the food as a solid B+. I appreciated that they pre-packaged fresh cuts of sashimi-grade fish. The standout sashimi was the Chu Toro, followed closely by the hamachi. The salmon was also enjoyable. The perilla leaves were an ideal accompaniment to the sashimi! Personally, I prefer enjoying sashimi in a restaurant setting. The tamago was an A+!
