Cosy, welcoming and nicely decorated Italian restaurant. It had a very family feel.Varied and interesting Menu. We were 4 adults and 2 children. Staff friendly and attentive. Children had large bowl of Pasta $15 ea. Too much for them. We were offered lovely bread and oil complimentary. Husband had Artichoke hearts for Entree, they were really delicious, Others had Anchovies, a bit too salty. I had chicken, One had Lamb, and two had the Rabbit. All dishes were tasty, moist and well presented. Three of us finished with the Tiramisu. That was not remarkable and not very sweet. Years ago this was a place we went to all the time. The staff are nice the food okay. The good is Italian food but like you would get at home. It is not food that you get at an upmarket restaurant. It has things like meat balls, sausage and steak usually served with three veg. When you go past it most nights it is full of people who look as though they share the heritage of the restaurant. Normally a good sign. Personally would not say it is bad but at some point we just moved past it
This is one of the best italian restaurants that i have eaten at for a long time , having been lucky enough to spend plenty of time in Italy let me say that this is on par with any of the restaurants that i ate there , Im almost was not going to review this because the word will be out , pasta dishes are wonderful , especially the gnocchi with cheese sauce ,wow .... just go and enjoy
Friendly, helpful staff and delicious food....a winning combination. Plus, knowing in advance that two of us had very specific dietary requirements, they had gone above and beyond by making something special for us. Very impressed, very appreciative! I would certainly go back.

We went on a Saturday night and it was quite busy. The meals are home cooked style. For me the meal was okay and it didn't have any wow factor. I feel it was an expensive meal for the experience.
We managed to book a table after 3 attempts during our stay in Melbourne and was not disapointed with the vast choice of dishes, we felt as if we where back in Italy.
Food was ok.Service non existent. Finally hot some drinks half way through primi. And then it was wrong. Waiter touched the arancini with his hand ! I SMH
Excellent Italian food covering traditional pastas and tasty mains like quail and rabbitIt had friendly staff and I would definitely go back again.

A great atmosphere now with a lounge/bar area which compliments the traditional Italian menu. My favourite is the three cheese gnocchi.
I think Zia's is the classiest restaurant on the strip down this end of Lygon StTop notch foodSmall but great wine list.
