We didn’t ear ourselves, but could see from what other guest ate that the food was good and the portions generous. The pub/restaurant first appears small, but there are more tables om the first floor. However, we were lucky to get a table om the...ground floor and was ordered to sit by a big round table together with some other guests. A bot unusual, but quite nice actually, as it strengthens the familiarity of the restaurant. The stuffed animals and fish skeletons on the walls and dangling from the ceiling might not be to everyone’s taste either, bu we thought it adds to the atmosphere!!
We found this place while mooching round the older parts of Rostock and we were warmly welcomed by the smashing barman/waiter. You simply must go upstairs and take a photo from the gallery of this pub cum ship..amazing. The place is full of cosy corners...all for yourself where you can enjoy a beer and a bite. Very traditional small menu and excellent Rostock beer. Try the dunkel! Loved it.
Certainly the shop was full, we were put on a big table with the hint that other guests will take place. Beverage order was quickly received and the shortest time they stood.... With the other guests at the table we quickly got into conversation... So we bridged the waiting time for our food... No more goes, food super, service super, always like...
I went for dinner. The place is fantastic with old boats and ships everywhere. And the food ... gorgeous!!! I order cod and it was delicious. I was siting in a table in the fist floor close to the window. It was a bit cold....But in summer it would be great.

Zur Kogge ist ein gemütliches uriges Fischrestaurant, in dem man alte Traditionen, wie Lokalrinden erleben kann. Das Essen ist gut und reichlich, was mich immer freut ist, wenn ein Restaurant für eine Gruppe einen runden Tisch hat.
Old skool restaurant with (mainly) local fish meals try the Fishplatte and try to finish it ; and finish with the aquavit
Went here for a refreshment and had lunch. Big portions, fairly priced, nice and cosy place with clean restrooms as well.
Good service, reasonable prices and food is excellent. The whole is rounded off by a rustic maritime atmosphere.
