We deliberately arrived at hours on a Saturday to find no one else in the restaurant although half a dozen were in a room across an aisle smoking Turkish cigarettes. I couldn't smell it from where we sat but walking to the toilet, it...was very obvious with the unattractive smoky haze. A pleasant lady greeted us. We commenced with a shared fetta pesto Turkish bread that was large in size, fresh and palate pleasing. Seafood consisted of green lip mussels, overcooked prawns very small, scallops not worth mentioning in some sort of sauce, basa fillets not even Australian SERIOUSLY rings of calamari with chips and a boring salad. visited here today with a scoopon voucher for sharing a dips, seafood plating for and glass wein. it started ok with the dips that were very tasty, but as so often they are never given enough brot. the expectation of a seafood plate... what came next was a surprise. a bowl with chips, Calamari rings and tartaric acid sauce, next came something from the smallest scallops, small overcooked garnel and barely muscle in a slightly spicy red sauce, what this was a bowl salate? consisted of mixed leaves, chunks and some carrots and finally very thin fish fillets. that was all that people share. We enjoyed our lunch at Achelya. There was more than enough for the two of us and the food was nicely cooked and attractively presented. We started with three dips which came with hot Turkish bread. Very moorish. We then shared a mixed grilled meat...platter. The shaslicks sat on a bed of rice on a brass tray heated from below by candles. There was also a bowl of salad. There are finer Turkish restaurants with more interesting food, but there is value at this Docklands establishment. It's a place for large groups, really. (I cannot think why one reviewer has given the place such a blasting. I'm suspicious that person has ulterior motives

friends meet for lunch with a scoopon voucher described as seafood plated meal. a basket of small pieces brot and big pretty dips were set before us as soon as they set themselves. No, where almost enough brot, all were half eaten. next a plate with Calamari rings and chips....not very Middle Eastern. followed by mosquitoes garnel and skallops in a tomato and paprikasauce. pretty chewing seafood. grilled fish pieces and salat of salat, tomato and gurke. pretty boring and certainly not the Turkish / Lebanese influence we expected
Went for birthday celebration looking forward to live music and belly dancing. Very disappointed to not have it. Serving size was very large. Lamb overcooked and dry. Chicken lovely. Rice was very tasty. Bread and dips also very nice. One section was for people smoking...the sheesha pipes which was good if you don't like having to sit near people smoking them.
The food was average. The Manti is possibly the worst I have ever tasted, as was my partner's chicken. Furthermore, the restaurant is listed on The Restaurant Choice' website as accepting their gift cards. They did not. I had to pay by credit card. Either...the restaurant or Restaurant Choice are dodgy. Stay clear!
atmosphere appealing, service excellent, eat very well. we had the fish that was delicious, mixed grill and all meat tender, dips and halloumi grilled. eating was good and that counts. shocked by the people including women smoking pipes

Visited here on Xmas eve with my husband and we were very pleasantly surprised. Both our meals were very large and delicious! He had the mixed grill and I had the lamb stir fry- absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend
great service and good food. very affordable and accommodating. highly recommended for couples, families or groups.
