was a quick dinner before my layer, but it must have been some delays, waited like 20 minutes and was admitted to a little upset bc now I had no time to actually eat my food before I had to go, but without even telling me everything they were very apologetic and gave me the half of my order. I could eat a part of my meal before my layer and it was very fresh and tasty. great customer service! I understand that sometimes things happen, but not every restaurant would be so generous about it so that I was very satisfied.
I was looking for a different restaurant when an amazing smell full of spices distracted me. I’m so glad it did, because this place is amazing! Marinated chicken over rice with yogurt sauce and allll the vegetables, sweet potato fries, and sweet spiced Somali tea and I am the happiest punctuation mark in the world. Both the fries and the chicken and rice were enough for leftovers and the tea (full of anise and cardamom warmed me right up on this gray and rainy evening. Highly recommend if you’re in downtown St. Paul.
We ordered two large dishes for delivery, but were disappointed to find that they were actually normal-sized and filled mostly with rice, with a very small portion of curry. Both dishes had minimal meat and lacked flavor and spice. My husband's beef dish was especially dry and heavy on rice. We may give them another chance in the future, but there are other restaurants we prefer and will return to before considering coming back here. Based on other reviews, we may try the gyros instead of the rice dishes next time.
After traveling from Costa Rica to Minnesota, multiple people recommended Afro Deli Grill to me. I quickly fell in love with the restaurant - the food was incredibly delicious and the staff was so friendly, taking the time to explain their menu options. Now that I'm back in Costa Rica, I can't stop dreaming about the amazing food at Afro Deli Grill.

I give this restaurant four stars for their delicious food, diverse menu, and helpful staff. However, I am deducting one star because they only offer one small size of fountain cup despite having a top-of-the-line fountain. It's a missed opportunity for them to generate more revenue by offering larger drink sizes.
The service is eager to please, and the atmosphere is bright, airy, and clean. The food and flavors are excellent, offering good value for the money. I was thrilled to discover this restaurant just three blocks from my new home in downtown St. Paul. I'm sure it will become a frequent favorite.
I ordered the Beef Sambusa and was disappointed. They were filled with so many onions that I couldn't taste any of the spices that were supposed to be in them. The overwhelming amount of onions in just one Sambusa was off-putting. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Dirty floors, counters, tables and cooking area. Ordered a gyro and they put 1 tsp of cucumber sauce. I asked for more and they charged. 75. The taste of the food was gross. Definitely won't be back to that place.

The food was amazing full of flavor. Muhammad was gracious. We went prior to their filming. A hidden gem. My family and I will definitely be coming back next week.
I’m eating the yassa chicken right now and it is quite literally the best food I’ve had in my life.
