Three of us booked high tea for a 40th birthday celebration,The tables are very low and the couches too far away from the tables, we did move the furniture ourselves to try to make it more comfortable,Our sparkling arrived and one of the glasses was chipped yes it was replaced but shouldn't happenThe high tea itself was average at best, the sandwiches were not fresh the bread was dry around the edges,The scones were good but no where near enough jam and cream we had to ask twice for it to be filled, Service was lacking, we had to walk up to the waiter to get his attention to order our tea,Water took a very long time to be topped up,When we asked for more tea once we got their attention they...
Told to wait near the fountain when we arrived at 2.20 for 2.30 - fountain is really a thoroughfare with no seats. Shown in at 2.40 pm after waiting in line for 5 minutes. Not actually brought high tea food until 3.10 pm, although could have some buffet desserts before this. Staff seemed run off their feet and so service very ordinary. We were allocated seating on a floppy lounge, which is not really where you would traditionally eat high tea. Piano player not in the same room, but somewhere off above the front door fountains. Food and crockery good, but service and atmosphere not a patch on High Tea we had at The Ritz in London. Service and atmosphere not even as good as many smaller cafes...
Went back to the Langham today for high tea and sadly it was very disappointing.My wife and daughter went for the bottomless sparkling and I'm afraid the bottle was empty after the first round. The food was average and while the chocolate table is available again nothing to get excited about. What I don't understand, you buy something for a 3-5period and at 4.30 you are told last call for tea and coffee never mind the bottomless glass.This high tea is a favourite for my daughter but I feel that it's time for a revamp at $280 for a few sandwiches six scones and three finger pies and five glasses of sparkling three of which are included in the high tea initial cost.
My family of 4 have just attended a High Tea sitting at the Langham Melbourne. It was part of a competition win that I won and was amazing! The kids had a special minion high tea which included a free toy, my husband and I had the wedge wood high tea! The food was delicious and plentiful! In fact too much! My advice for you if attending is to take some containers to take left overs home with you- being that we travelled 4.5 hours on the train to attend, and I was not aware we couldn't ask to take left overs home our cakes were very squashed by the time we got home! Well worth it! Amazing food! Once in a lifetime opportunity for my family!

originally we wanted to go to the melba, but were too late with our booking attempt and we decided to plan our next step in the aria and enjoy two very drinkable aperitifs. we stayed and had a great steak rock for dinner, followed by dessert. in the next days we also had great fast coffee there and we enjoyed some of the high quality sweets as part of our spa package. at any time the staff were great, professional and friendly and made the experience even more pleasant.
on arrival, we felt a little peckish and so we ordered some coffee and scones. The scones were warm and fluffy and went down very well. Having a serious cup and saucer fetish, I loved the china. The waiter was welcoming and attentive. Feeling more sated, I then enjoyed a champagne cocktail and my partner a scotch. The Aria was a comfortable place to spend some time during our stay.
We stopped in for two flat whites, $12.00 for two, so a little above the usual cost in Australia. Well made. The foyer of the hotel is something to see. Lots of marble, stairs, fountains, and sculptures. Aria is upscale, clean and has good service. Great, clean bathrooms.
Met family for a few drinks in this lovely bar in The Langham. They have a great wine list, cocktails and some boutique beers. We decided to stay for a light dinner, sashimi platter, tempura draws and grilled tuna skewers, all excellent. Would definitely do this again!!

Dropped in here for a few drinks before a dinner engagement, fantastic customer service with local knowledge, happy to accommodate, nice sectioned off area also, with great fixtures etc. Will come past again if in the area. Lots of parking nearby.
great and nice food but prices are really steep. if you are staying in langham, you can consider eating there at least once. you wont regret it.
