I'm not a vegetarian but I love all food! So when my friend suggested going to Au Lac on our food crawl I was up for trying it. It's a big, clean, uncluttered restaurant and the staff were lovely and helpful. We ordered the duck pancakes and the Vietnamese Cannelloni. Yum! I was a little unsure about what the duck pancakes would taste like but they were surprisingly similar to the real thing. I loved the Cannelloni! The noodle roll was soft and filled with a tasty filling. The vietnamese dipping sauce and fresh salad were perfect and it was a flavour explosion when eaten altogether. I had a vegan friend in town and everyone recommended I take her to Au Lac and we were not disappointed. It has very much the vibe of the local Chinese restaurant, just made completely plant based. We got the honey soy chicken, Vietnamese pancake and Buddha vegetables and liked them all.I’m personally not a huge fan of fake meat but they have loads of tofu vegetable options as well.The staff were nice, the meals came out quick and overall all it was a great casual place to grab a delicious vegan meal in Canberra.
Having read good reviews for this place I was hoping I would enjoy it more. Unfortunately it was nothing to rave about. We tried the mock roast duck. Surprisingly it does taste a bit like roast duck but the "skin" was a bit too oily due to being deep fried to make the texture more like crispy duck skin. We also had the mushrooms and eggplant hot pot. I've had better veggie dishes in non vegetarian restaurants. For the extra dollars you pay, it's not really worth it.
I have been coming here for over a year and Au Lac never disappoints me. I try and always get a new dish every time I visit, and so far I have loved everything. The service is great and the staff are friendly. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the food is absolutely delicious. This is my favourite vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Canberra.

I never get sick of Au Lac !!! I love it! :). I have been eating at Au Lac for about 7 years and have never had a bad experience! The food is amazing the service is amazing! You never have to wait long to get your meal and I have converted many meat eaters into liking Vego food by bringing them to Au Lac its just that good!!! :)
Giving a rating 4/5 due to outstanding and service. Staff was really good and attended to us wry promptly. (Not sure if Staff is his name but he wore a shirt label Staff). Get alternative to meat.
Great diversity of delicous, filling, interesting and nutritious meals. Great value and friendly staff. I've been there a few times now and it's definitely a jewel in Dickson's crown.
Amazing food and service, excellent menu. Try the crispy soy beef with chilli, and the curry puffs! Really great for takeaway as well, strongly recommend this place for a great meal!

everything is delicious, the duck is delicious, the bark is delicious, the mixed sweet is delicious. good environment forget to make photos, wonderful experience, will come next time
