I have been going to the Regal on and off for the last 8 or so years.On the 29/08/2011, I ordered take away just about $50.00 worth, got home (about 10mins away from restaurant) to found out they left a few things out and the food looked terrible.I called them immediately and politely I asked if I may return for a refund. This restaurant has changed hands multiple times in the past 18 years of my life here in Canberra. Used to be pretty ordinary Chinese food but lately the new owners have made some changes to the menu. What a surprise! Not only the quality but the quantity has become really good. My advice is request for their board specials rather than regular Chinese food. We ordered roast duck special couple of days prior to our dining and it was reasonably good. We were a group of 8 adults. Ordered soup with intestines, not for those who dislike innards; it was toe warming and tasty. $10.90 for lunch which includes a glass of wine or a soft drink! I'm glad we came here for lunch. Extensive menu, including one on the wall in Chinese, and the prices for the dinner menu all looked pretty fair.Service as friendly, and the food certainly was fast to arrive. Special fried rice was great, as was Mongolian lamb, salt and chilli squid and chicken dish. Serving sizes were excellent; myself and 2 work colleagues certainly did not starve. We were obviously ahead of the lunchtime rush, but 2 minutes later there was certainly a crowd. You might need to book if you want to make sure of a table. Parking is easy across the road for a small fee.
My husband and I came here on Friday. We ordered the Duck Pancakes as an entree. They were so disgusting my husband and I couldnt finish them. We order this as an entree all the time at Asian restaurants as we love them. But all they were mixed fine vegetables and flooded with sauce. It dripped everywhere, and didnt have ANY duck in it. We folded them out and searched for the duck, but nothing. Other then that, we had the Mongolian lamb (Which wasn’t all onion so good to see), and the deep fried ice-cream and they were both really good.

My wife and I are gluten and dairy free. The staff especially the lady manager, went out of her way to meet our needs. We liked it so much we went back the next night and ordered different dishes. We didn't go back a third night as we left to go home (we were on holidays in Canberra). They went out of their way to make my wife just vegetables, that were not on the menu. There was ample food and it was delicious. Highly recommended. As previously mentioned, the restaurant is in Belconnen (Purdue St) not Weston.
Been going here for years, both dining in and getting takeaway. I took some friends here only a few weeks ago as I hadn't seen them for weeks and The Regal didn't disappoint. Everyone was impressed with the food and the prices were very reasonable. Parking is never a problem with a parking lot available just across from the restaurant, and it being free of charge after 5:30. Would recommend to anyone looking for nice, affordable Chinese food. Oh, and try the Mongolian Lamb. It's to die for.
Very nice. Gluten free options excellent. Food well cooked and came quickly. Family enjoyed the honey prawns and other options. Fussy daughter even ate 4 bowls of fried rice - amazing. Son did not like noodles but yummed down everything else.
Friendly and efficient service, from being seated to paying the bill. Food was fresh and quick to the table. Highly recommend the salt and chilli whitebait, delicious! Please note that this restaurant is not in Weston, it is in Belconnen.
