Visited this restaurant for the first time last night . We love Turkish but usually do take out from another venue for convenience. For starters we ordered the 4 dip platter with Turkish bread and selected what we wanted. My husband ordered the mixed grill and the girls and I had the traditional Turkish salami pizza. The table attendant was great who took out order as we pronounced our interpretation of our order she pronounced it the correct way ... I liked that ! The dips were home made and lovely , the bread was delicious and the pide was really great but I noticed we only kind of got about 3/4 of a serve of pride as what we usually get if we take away at our usual venue. Went with friends for a catch up evening meal. Booked a table and upon arrival the designated table was right on top of a huge reserved table. Would have been noisy so we asked to relocate. They accommodated our request but the noise from the large table was still very off putting. Lots of yelling etc. annoying when all you want is to have a quite chat with friends over dinner. The service we received was also very poor. The waiter was hopeless. He didn't come to check if we needed drinks and he didn't clear any used plates off the table. The restaurant claims to be the first Turkish restaurant in Canberra. Maybe true, but definitely not the best. This is 4th Turkish restaurant we tried in Canberra and it stood at a distinct 4th position in terms of food quality. The restaurant space and decoration was somewhat congested and oldish. The food was definitely overpriced, and the significant price hike for dine-in compared to take away (for same food) did not justify the subpar in-house Turkish dance.
The restaurant kindly let us hold out team meeting for an hour before lunch. 9 out of 11 had the $24 banquet - all very satisfied except for one comment that the zucchini fritter he had seemed too 'sloppy'. One had the Shish Kebab skewers with salad and said it was great. I tried the Prawns Tava entree - quite nice. I also ordered the stuff mushroom entree but this was forgotten, unfortunately. Definitely worthwhile. Probably more a 3 1/2 rating.

My wife and I dined here on Friday night. We truly enjoyed the food and are happy to report that it brought back fond memories of our visit to Turkey. The service was good. The servings were generous (we needed a doggy bag) and the flavour was excellent.The venue is nicely fitted out and has the appearance of being in Turkey with wooden decor, rugs and pictures. Turkish music played in the background.We are looking forward to returning.
We've been going to this restaurant since it opened many moons ago; sometimes the quality changes a little but generally a banquet is a great night out. Just sit back and let it happen. It seems to be at its best when crowded and busy. Some nights belly dancing is on the menu, a bit of an acquired taste but definitely great fun. Cheap and cheerful.
Had a Christmas Lunch here, first time visit for me. I would definitely return for good Turkish :) Just don't take much notice of the decor, it's interesting to say the least, but that's not why you're there. Their food is obviously the reason, and it's very good! Flavour, serving size, freshness, ticks all the boxes. I'll be back!
Turkish delight has been part of the Belconnen establishment for 40 years. Continues to provide excellent dine in or take away food. Quality with quantity; wonderful flavours. And excellent value for money. Support your local business!

Went to the Turkish Delight and had a very good meal. But I think they were not expecting many people and had only skeleton crew on and therefore service for drinks etc took quite a while but the food was rolled out quickly.
