We rolled up in Fleurie, hungry and with no idea where to eat. We saw this restaurant on the corner opposite the square and, after looking inside, taking a deep breath and convincing ourselves it would have to do we entered. It was a weekday lunch time and the restaurant was quite full, populated by what appeared to be the local elderly population! The internal appearance of the restaurant was a little off putting - mis matched and dated is probably a fair description. However, that's where any possible disappointment could end. Table très chargée, fausses fleurs Service très décevant Beaucoup d'attente avant de nous apporter la carte Menu imposé pour toute la table, pas possible de prendre chacun son menu, tanpis si tu n'aimes pas tout Bouteilles de vins posées sur la table, personne vient nous resservir à discrétion. A peine le temps de finir son assiette, qu'on nous l'enlève alors que tous les convives n'ont pas terminé. We had visited this restaurant a few years ago before this new management. Our visit for dinner was truly memorable and the chef and staff didn't put a foot wrong. Stylish decor, good choice and faultless cooking. It was a Wednesday evening, but it was full and deservedly so. Every course, we ordered separate menus, was beautifully presented and delicately flavoured. Both of us ordered the soufflé for pudding, a difficult thing to get right - it was fabulous, the best I have tasted. Our wine was so good that we visited the vineyard to buy next day. Very nice discovery! Small gourmet restaurant in the centre of the village located in the middle of the vineyards.
