Looking for a place to eat at Kew and dropped in at the satay Inn. Was greeted by the owner. The menu did not have the 100+ selection as commonly seen in other Malaysian/Singaporean eateries, but then the selection had most of my favorites.Nasi lemak, fried noodles (kway teoh, haw fun, mee goreng, etc), curries and of course satay. I went for the nasi lemak with two sticks of satay (7/10) and my wife took the haw fun.(8/10) This was followed by teh tarik (pulled tea) which was served "tarik" by the chef right next to the table! Real authentic. Prices were reasonable.
Driven past often, so decided to have a late lunch here. Poor parking options. Nobody else in the restaurant on a Tues @ 1.30pm.We had satay & Singapore noodles. 4 sticks for $8- great flavour but very small serve. Singapore noodles were tasteless & chicken was dry as....Male owner sat engrossed in his iPad at a table while we had to go to the kitchen to get service- to order or pay. The large TV dominated the whole place with ABC parliament broadcast.Will not return bc of lack of service, poor taste, portion size & poor atmosphere. Needs to put customer first.
The quiet end of Kew has welcomed a new Malaysian menu thanks to a change in restaurant ownership. TP, the chef and owner, is beginning to build a local following, so the restaurant is not overly busy yet. We went with some friends for dinner and were very pleased with the fresh and flavorful food. The curries have a nice kick to them, and the service is friendly, though somewhat reserved. Although it wasn't full when we went, with such delicious food and a variety of menu options, it's only a matter of time before it gets busy. We definitely plan on returning.
Felt like having Malaysian one evening and was, unfortunately, DISAPPOINTED with the service meal and everything in general. Not much Malaysian flavour at all, poor service and not well kept although it is supposed to be there for a number of years. price is I suppose average and definitely not cheap. I don't think I will be going back again

I go pass this restaurant everyday when I go to work and thought I would try it. Now I know what the place is mostly empty. The food is of poor quality. For good Singaporean/Malaysian food around this area, go to Old Raffles Place in Collingwood or Omah's in Hawthorn.
Not many dining options in Kew. Average Thai restaurant, not great. Can't really say too much about it. Priced reasonably. Aged décor, dated. Service pretty friendly as most Thai places are.
Thank you guys for another great night of food. Lovely people who really care about serving authentic malaysian food. My friends and I will definitely be back soon
The food and service at Saint Lucia are exceptional. The brisket was amazing. The outdoor dining area is perfect for enjoying a rum in the sun.

Have been several times, the food is good and TP is friendly. Satay is the dish should not be missed.
This restaurant is in Victoria NOT New South Wales. Tripadvisor staff can you fix this error please?
