My family (a total of 6 people including my 83 year old father and two sons aged 8 & 9) attempted to have breakfast on Sunday 14May 2017 as the restaurant was awarded best hotel restaurant in Gourmet Traveller. It was Mother's Day and also my birthday. I called the restaurant twice in the lead up to book a table (the second time 3 days prior) and was advised that they do not take bookings; it is walk in only.I suggested it might be busy because it was Mother's Day and asked how this could be avoided and was told we would simply have to wait.we arrived at 9am that morning.The restaurant was packed and we waited in the queue.Once we were at the head of the queue we were asked for our room numb...
Recently had a late week night dinner here, to celebrate our Daughter's Graduation. The service from our waitress Hannah, was first class. She went out of our way to ensure we did not feel rushed, and to offer suggestions for dietary requirements. The food is all sourced from local Victoria producers, and everyone's meal choices were excellent. We declined dessert, but while waiting for coffee Hannah produced a small chocolate mousse cake with strawberries, and "congratulations" written in chocolate on the plate, as their gift to our daughter. Such a nice touch to end a special evening.
I booked for a group of a month in advance, for a birthday celebration. I clearly advised at time of booking of a guest with an allergy. Also sent reminders leading up to the date. Less then to the booking, the staff member...(a team lead) I had been dealing with the entire time sends an email to inform they cannot cater for the allergy and that the person is best not to eat at their restaurant. Appalling customer service. This left me panicking to find a venue, with less than a day and instruct the guests. So disappointing.
This is one of my favourite hotel restaurants. The food was absolutely faultless the night we dined, and the service was excellent. We did not have the buffet, but dined from the al la carte menu.It was a very wet, cold night, and we sat in the booth by the window, watching the world go by. It was fantastic.From the moment we arrived, the experience here was fantastic, and we can't wait to go back.

The service was terrible the manager was far to important to help guests. A new staff member was obviously not trained properly was he got things wrong. The desserts were disgusting worst I've ever had stale, taste combinations didn't work, coffee used was cheap and...bitter. Would not bother again definitely not worth the money
Melbourne was very busy last night and most restaurants were "at capacity" so we decided to eat in our hotel. Everything was really nice. Staff attentive. Steaks cooked well. All tasty. Main prices over $40 and desserts closer to $20. Not a cheap meal, Hyatt prices but still enjoyable.
We had breakfast here during our stay at the GrandHyatt as breakfast was included in our package. The food was plentiful and well presented (particularly given Covid restrictions). Freshly poached eggs to perfection every time, and the coffee was excellent.
We had the pleasure of eating at Collins Kitchen for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast selection is outstanding. Dinner service was just as good. The service is good and food selection and quality to match.

Buffets aren't usually my preference but this breakfast one is great. Lots of variety, so fresh and coffees included. The dinners are great also, plentiful servings.
Shared a romantic evening meal there with my wife, the service was good and the food exceptional. The signature steak dish was mouthwatering and so tender.
