oh dear, if ever a restaurant has gone to the dogs, this is it! Cheap in house menu's, portions cut by 50%, atmosphere dire, music so load that you could not hold a conversation, even placing an order was difficult. No chardonay, no gamon, no way will this place survive. We used to love it here, everything has been cut to the bone to save cost, the place used to be rammed at the weekends, not today (Sun), the place was less than half full. It will be a long, long time before we come again...if ever.....if it is still open...... The quality of the food was OK, just much, much smaller portions than in the past.
Three of us went for an early dinner on a Friday night. They told us we had to wait for our table to be ready which was odd as the whole restaurant only had about 6 tables seated. There was a brand new menu which was really good. New choices and good selection. Food was really nice. For 3 of us though I thought it was pricey at over £100 without drinks (as we got them at the bar first). Only thing that was disappointing was the bread at the start. I liked the warm rolls before but now they’re normal cold rolls.
Have been coming to Damons since the 90s. The food in our opinion is still magnificent, the ribs were to die for back then and they still are now. The staff, whilst clearly busy were still friendly and helpful. It's obviously a bit more expensive nowadays, but then again it is 2023! We stayed at the hotel this time as well and that was also really good. Great rooms at a decent price. Breakfast in the morning was also great and really good value at £10 each. Overall, a great stay with amazing food.
We ordered takeout from this restaurant and were disappointed with the cold meal that needed to be reheated. The staff seemed clueless and the only positive was the good ribs. However, the onion loaf was just a tray of fried onions, not resembling a true onion loaf. The chicken wings were not crispy, just soggy. Overall, we were very disappointed with the overpriced meal and won't be ordering from there again.

Absolutely amazing service from CONNOR this morning!!! I come here every family birthday as we have a bit of a tradition! Today has been the best service I have had in years, a real credit to the restaurant, definitely deserves praise as he couldn’t have been better, met every need and outstanding customer service! Thank you very much Connor!
My wife was met at the door by a rude security guard who refused to let her enter. We have visited this restaurant multiple times in the past, but we will not be returning. It is unacceptable to be treated with disrespect in this manner.
We had a wonderful stay in a lovely room with excellent ribs and fabulous cocktails at a reasonable price. The portions were so generous that we were too full to even consider ordering a starter. Highly recommend!
It wasnt very nice it was ever so salty I felt quite poorly on the way home the onion loaf was raw not propply cooked the meat was ok but still loads off salt on it Dont even know why there salt on the table

Found the door staff very rude and unhelpful Felt intimidated. Shocked at the door staff attitude . New to the area and will never return here .
Great Ribs and lively venue . Thought the drinks are quite expensive if you don’t use the offers . Would definitely go again for the Ribs .
