My husband and I had a rare night without our children and wanted to visit somewhere local where we could have a nice meal, a few drinks and enjoy a place with some atmosphere. Unfortunately D'arcy's only really succeeded with the drinks for this occasion. We visited on a Saturday night in August. While I wasn't expecting a wild evening (it's prime cottage time,) I thought that there would be a bit of life at this venue. I was wrong. We were one of only a few tables. Our server was great. Hubby and I decided to head here for lunch this past week. We had a coupon from "The Entertainment Book" so decided to give it a try. It was a midweek afternoon and there weren't many customers. Our server was very pleasant but VERY slow. It took a long time for her to come and take our order and a long time for her to give us the cheque. Hubby ordered the Butter Chicken Boxty which he said was okay. I went with the Fish 'n Chips. I found the batter to be quite greasy. The fries were good. With all the places to choose to eat in Ottawa, I don't think we need to return to this spot. It was just meh. I'm glad we had the coupon.

We stopped for a snack here before our parliment tour because they had a nice patio and friendly servers. Our dirks came fairly quick but it took alittle longer to get our food. The appitizers were not very good. We got chicken wings which were dried out and hard. The mini sherperds pies were really soggy from all of the gravy, and there was way to much potato and almost no meat. The patio has a lovely veiw of the war memorial, which was nice. Overall nothing special, but a good place to rest after a long day of walking.

Normally I would say that the food is pretty pricey here, but on some nights some of their menu is discounted. I enjoyed the steak pie here. it was pretty tasty, and somes with some mashed potatoes. The burger here is ok, but nothing spectacular. I enjoy the ambience, although sometimes I find that the service is a little bit slow. The value is good on the right nights though, depending on what you want to eat.

Got seated, took our waitress about 10 mins to come see us(mind you, more than half the restaurant is empty,) takes our drink orders and we literally waited another 15 mins until we received our drinks. Only 2 out of the 5 of us asked for our bills and she brought all 5, making the others feel unwanted and rush. Never will return.

be it fish and chips, nachos, chicken wrap plate or deluxe burger served with fries. all have been of the same opinion excellent! the same for sangria and cakes: fudge or three chocolate mousse. succulent! really a beautiful evening with family on a shaded and refreshing terrace thanks to a small mist of water.

We stayed with friends for dinner. beautiful local and clean enough but very slow service and veneered. Maybe due to the young age of the boys who served us. food is to be considered in the average nothing that is different from other places. I was hoping for something better.

If you see a sign in the parking lot of a restaurant that says “kitchen help wanted”, be forewarned that there might be problems with your meal. We were a party of 8 and all of us were disappointed in our meals. Half the food was cold – had been cooked

we stayed at d'arcy for dinner on our ottawa visit. strategic location close to the parliament hill. choice of typical pub dishes with fast service.

I got the poutine and the service in general is good. I thought it was a little too high, though it's worth it.
