I remember this little restaurant at the end of Tournus main street being for sale a while back, and the owners were looking to pass it on to a deserving couple. They had a number of applicants and eventually chose César and Rima Asfar, refugees who had fled Syria two years previously having lost their home and their jobs in the civil war.César was a sales manager, and Rima a teacher but they knew enough about cooking to grab the chance of a new start, with César as chef and Rima as serveuse.However, at the end of the day a diner is not particularly interested in the back story - he just wants a decent meal at a fair price. And this is what the couple are providing.The space is very limited...

My wife and I returned from our camping holiday in the South French Coast and ended up on our way back to The Netherlands in Tournus. We were very well surprised by the nice city and found this restaurant by surprise. The owner couple really welcome you and the food was delicious, in particularly the humus and the different type of fresh spices used with the meat and vegetables. This certainly was one of our best meals in our holiday. Thanks, Rene and Wilma

I've been with my girlfriend in Tournus for 3 nights, and by chance, we found this lovely restaurant, a warm welcome and a lovely smile were waiting us, the food was amazing and fresh with a nice variety of wine and delicious syrian desserts, I had tried a lot of Syrian and Lebanese food in different places, and so far, this is the best I had ever tasted.I'll definitely come back to this restaurant, highly recommended.

We came by chance and were pleasantly surprised. the atmosphere is very warm, the team with little care for its customers. the dishes are varied and allow to taste several specialties. It's very good, and prices are very good. We recommend!
