Golden Inn Seafood Restaurant

After 6 months in Nanaimo, I thought I would never find any traditional Chinese food... But thanks to the recommendation of our friend local foodie we found a winner at Golden Inn! We had the 3 course Peking duck $53.95 , seafood hotpot $20.95 , and a Chow Kui Tew $16.95 . For the Peking duck: it comes with the crispy skin and wrappers, lettuce wrap, and duck soup. It all tasted very authentic! The skin was crispy I wish there was more! , the filling for the lettuce wraps was perfect, and the soup was so flavorful! Buffet not offered. Service was good. Spring rolls were good. The rest of the food was terrible. Special chow mein was a pale, mushy dish with a thin tasteless sauce. The beef and broccoli was covered with the same tasteless sauce. The chicken hot pot was literally a pot of mushy onions. All of the dishes contained very little meat. Easily the worst Chinese food I've eaten, definitely not going back.

they simply come out of the ferry and look for a place to lunch. we thought to get the buffet, but it was a little late for him, our server hit a dinner combination that was yummy and very cheap ($12,95) for the two of us. the service was remarkable, very friendly

not only the waitresses, but also the owner was very nice and friendly. table and washroom were perfectly clean. eating was really good. make sure they bring more than 1 person to share the good food!

The staff are friendly and helpful. It was very quiet when I was there, just a few groups. The servings are very generous.
