The food at this restaurant is fantastic. I tried the Piggyback Burger, which had a quarter pound burger, fried chicken breast, and thick cut bacon all sandwiched between two rolls. Despite the crowded atmosphere, the sandwich held together well while I ate it and the fries were delicious. The restaurant, Hop and Grind, is located in the middle of Durham, right by the UNH campus. It seemed like we picked a busy day to visit, as many parents were in town visiting their children and dined at the same restaurant. The chaos added to the overall charm of this great burger spot. I would definitely return when in the area, but I have to admit that I prefer the Mac and cheese at the Peabody fair.

Brain child of super star uber creative chef Bobby Marcotte, Hop Grind is alone in the category of real burger and fries, you can't find anything like it The combination of flavor is genius, the fries are cooked in beef tallow and the meats used are natural hormone free. They keep a fresh list of local beers. The funky atmosphere combined with the best service you will find anywhere makes this place a must visit, even if like me you have to drive 40 minutes both way. So worth the drive. Fair warning, they are in the heart of UNH Durham, so it gets crazy busy when the kids are in campus.

I sat at the bar and asked for unsweetened iced tea, but they only had sweetened available. I ordered a burger with bacon, provolone, and BBQ sauce. The BBQ sauce had a sweet with a little bite flavor that I enjoyed. However, the burger was not as big or juicy as I had expected - it was a small, thin, square patty. The fries were also small, thin, and lukewarm. The atmosphere was loud with people and music, but the service was good. Overall, I may not return as I left still feeling hungry and the burger and fries were not to my liking.

First visit, as advertised, excellent food, fast service. Had the double-burger with Jalapenos. Wife had chicken sandwich with feta cheese. Bro had Veggie Burger, Texas Cole all excellent. Sis in the law had the Bacon Burger, said it was excellent. Homemade Cola was perfect. If you leave the loop in the area and get in, you will not be disappointed.

Love this spot, cool vibe inside, great for a casual lunch or dinner. Been a dozen times and haven't been disappointed yet. My favorite is the big poppar chicken sandwich, if you like a spicy chicken sandwich this one won't let you down. Great beer selection too. And the malted milkshakes are amazing!

my friend and daughter brought me here a few weeks ago and I'll say after almost 50 years on this planet. down. the best burgers (morning glory) and fries I've ever had. the personal was incredibly friendly and helpful, very clean and cool in a beautiful opposite. Go on!

Really like the creativity, flavors, quality is all very good! The menu is kinda weird and overwhelming but the food is outstanding! I really enjoy their normal fries. The special ones are over the top. But the Parma Sutra is phenomenal!! Soooooo good!

This restaurant is a charming spot with delicious food! Although I was not as impressed by the decor as I had hoped, everything else was exceptional. The highlight was definitely the Pommes!

Had a burger and fries. Burger was good, fries were so so. Friendly service and cool atmosphere. I?d give it another shot.
