Was rather disappointed with Huff Bagelry today, It was lacking in vibe, I am not big on pumping tunes while i eat, but at least play something soft in the background and spare us the awkward feeling that everyone else in the cafe can hear your tables conversation. This store could be amazing but is in severe need of a floor manager. When i ordered it took 10 mins for my coffee to come out and a further 15 mins for my bagel. 25 mins for a coffee and a bagel is far too long. These guys need the subway method, line up, make the bagel, pay and go. Customers are paying good money, the least you could do is have someone make sure the boys making bagels are knocked into gear and get a move on, no...
Having been here many months ago for a quick takeaway coffee , thought I would try some lunch . Cafe was very busy , most tables and eating benches were taken . I was met at the front counter by a abrupt young lady , seems she could not really care about what i was ordering only to move me along quickly . She seemed annoyed that I was not sure about my order . I decided in the minestrone soup and Rye bagel with a coffee . It took roughly around 20 mins for my soup to arrive with the bagel . Still no coffee . The young man who delivered my lunch to the bench basically through down the plate and grumbled something . Soup was ok , although a little sweet . Nice looking place with a few bagels to choose from, the location is less than ideal, the oversized tables inside reduces the number of people who can dine in. As a table of 5 we had to sit outside at a bar, not great on an overcast cold day. Coffee was ok but nothing impressive that you could not get anywhere else in the area. Feel the only thing that sets this place apart, are their bagels and as I tend to take the family out for drinks they had limited options for younger children. Visited once, that was enough.
I've been there 3 times and came back because of the quality if the food (very tasty and great variety) but each time service has been very poor. The last yime, we were waiting outside for our order to be ready and after a while we came back inside to see our order just sitting on the counter, getting cold, and no one bothered telling us it was ready. I go here regularly with a girlfriend as we love the bagels! My Aunty introduced me and I have go back countless times. Bagels are always lovely, wait time has improved from other reviews I have seen. I dont rate the hot chocolate personally but the juices are good. Sometimes feel like staff are a little uninterested, a smile wouldn't be bad from them sometimes but will continue to go because the bagels are great!
my partner is from new york and apparently, nowhere does bagels like (long island NY), we've been in Melbourne for 3 months now, and craving bagels.... we came across huff and we were pleasantly surprised!!!!! the bagels are SO NICE and even my partner agrees. we also love love love the chai almond lattes!!!! staff have always been attentive and friendly.
