Updated review after 2 years, for in-person dining. Yayume used to be one of our favorite spots for a meal right before or after a movie at Regal Crow Canyon. Unfortunately the theater folded and with us recovering from pandemic lockdowns and as busy parents, going out is more of a luxury. I am thrilled that Yayume offers consistently good and fresh nigiri sushi and Teriyaki salmon and chicken entrees. Our 2-yo is a huge fan of the salmon and he can probably eat the whole filet by himself! I do recommend getting the Teriyaki sauce on the side for both dishes, since that way you control the messiness factor and seasoning. Service continues to be friendly. One of the curses of being the best sushi in San Ramon is that everyone shows up on Valentine's day. I come here all the time, and will still come back but they were a huge disappointment on such a busy day. They lost my order so I waited an hour, which I could be patient about cuz the 2 servers were hustling. BUT when I took the food home, the Lion King was burnt, dry, and overcooked. The rice in the meal seemed dry and old. One of the dishes was just wrong. The fact they sent out a burnt Lion King was unacceptable. My message to management (I don't blame the servers) is to staff up on such a busy day. Plan ahead. Do better. We spend $70+ on food that was partially not edible.

Idk how any of you are dishing out 4 stars salad not fresh, you know when salad in grocery has been in water so long it gets soggy and dark? yeah bits and pieces of that were in the salad. miso soup seaweed looks like it's been out, it was brown also not fresh soup because at any other sushi spot, miso soup would be scorching hot. agedashi tofu not even warm when served tasted like they opened a bag from Ranch 99 and served it on a plate with some sauce and bonito flakes african spider roll shrimp was tough, tasted old chicken teriyaki don way too saucy dinner combo chicken teriyaki w tempura it came in a 2 ft x 1 ft plate with a tiny serving of rice

The low carb roll came with five pieces (one was eaten hence the cloture) and it costs $17! Usually the entree would come with another option but it's very expensive for just one item, with salad, rice and soup. This place is very expensive, average roll is more than $15.
