I've been coming to this area for a few years and have driven past this place and thought it would be worth trying.We arrived on a Friday evening in the parking lot was full, so I was concerned if we would get a seat. We ended up having to park in the lot of the restaurant next-door. Luckily, the wait it was only about 15 minutes. My wife and I had our first date here 5 years ago, and we celebrate our anniversary here nearly every year. The sushi rolls are reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The squid and tempura shrimp appetizers are amazing. My only suggestion would be to put a description of the saki on the menu so those who haven't had it can have an idea of what they are ordering before it's opened. All and all a great place to go for a date.Parking: There are about 15 spots; if it's full so is the restaurant.
The fried crab sushi was overly fried and for $14 it was more almost burned breading then crab. I also got a shrimp based sushi (I'm horrible at remembering the names after the fact). That one was pretty good. Overall I wouldn't recommend their sushi. I'm sure for a town the size of Hickory there are other better options. I will add the server was great. If only the food matched their service.
I don't like leaving negative reviews, but in this case after thinking about it- They chose to send out food that could make someone sick. My sashimi smelled. It was obvious they tried to sear the fish to cover up the smell but you can even see the color is off. Server was kind to replace with some cooked food.Food: 1/5
