You're in Grasmere, it's packed with holiday makers. You can't get parked, you can't get a table what do you do? You head out of town and find The Lancrigg Hotel/Bar/restaurant. It isn't easy to find but worth the effort. We have been several times since the new owners took over. The setting is beautiful, sitting outside, having a nice pint of local ale, having some very nice food. Lots of walks around there too. Staff are very friendly. I would recommend The Lancrigg if you are in Grasmere and would like a peaceful setting for a spot of lunch. We were staying at the hotel and booked in to the restaurant for our first night which was a Sunday. All 3 of us had the Sunday roast and we all really enjoyed it. The dining room has a lovely setting with views across the gardens. Staff were very attentive and nothing was a problem. We had an early evening meal on our last night, again served in the dining room. Fish and chips, steak sandwich and chips and a chicken club sandwich and chips were all really good quality and we all left empty plates. Prices are about what you would expect to pay in Grasmere. Ate here for our 20 th wedding anniversary, also my 60 th birthday as we spent out honeymoon here when it was a vegetarian hotel. It's a beautiful setting and although no longer purely vegetarian it has a good choice of veggie food. We got lost on the way by following the satnav and arrived 20 mins late, after they had officially finished serving. However both staff members were incredibly understanding and generous and let us order and gave us a wonderful window seat. We had a lovely evening and can't recommend highly enough.

We went for 6.30 dinner sitting. We got the food around d 7.45. Food very disappointing for the wait and the cost. Negotiated a price reduction due to wait and quality of food I.e. butternut squash risotto £32 a small amount of bland risotto with 2 pieces of butternut squash on the side. On the upside the waitress was amazing. They were clearly hugely understaffed and she was rushed off her feet. She kept calm and was very professional and pleasant a credit to the place. Living in Grasmere we had heard good things about the food at Lancrigg in recent times they were certainly right. The food looked as good as pictures we had seen and tasted even better. A proper good Beef and Yorkshire Pudding 10/10 service with a smile. The Sticky Toffee Pudding also hit our expectations. We will be going back.

Used the car park before a walk and then called in for lunch afterwards. The place is lovely, quirky and beautifully located. The staff are really pleasant and friendly. The food was delicious and generous portions. I didn’t know this was here so I’m glad I now know for future visits.

I came here with my classmates to eat scones and drink tea, the scone and tea was amazing, but what impressed me the most was the service that we got. The waitress (Serene) was amazing and took good care of us. She worked extremely hard and needs to get a raise.

A lovely hotel away from busy Grasmere. Very friendly staff, just had drinks as they weren't serving food because it wasn't worth opening kitchen for the lack of customers. It's a shame that hotels are suffering like this after covid and the economic climate. Reserva una mesa ahora

Fantastic food, brilliant service and beautiful setting. Just spent a week in Cornwall and the food just doesn’t compare. Best meal I have had in ages. Thank you.

Flexible opening times, reasonable prices and a variety excellent dishes, at this dog friendly hotel, make it a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
