We were looking for a few goodies to go with a bottle of Champagne in our room. We were able to get a baguette.The main market was closed and we were desperate to find some cheese and possibly some other little gourmet item. At the back of this little shop they had what we wanted. Several kinds of cheese, meat and those little sweet red peppers stuffed with cheese. The lady who helped us was VERY nice, sliced the meat for us and helped us with some words in French. They have lots of gourmet items to take away as gifts and at the time we were there some sandwiches and salads.
so yes, it is interesting to find products from the island in the same place in one time. But the prices are completely crazy! the classic pineau of the island is almost twice as expensive in supermarket at the other end of the france. and it's a bit the same case on all products. And just the products. a good number have no relation to the island! k. teas, various spices in large numbers. No, really, there'd be something to do. Better!
Nous y sommes passé car nous avions raté l'heure d'ouverture du marché, et allions rentrer sans fleur de sel!Heureusement, il y a plusieurs variétés de sel et une multitude d'autres produits gourmets dans cette jolie épicerie !une petite caverne d'Ali Baba!!
