We visited the restaurant around the end of July. A top experience! We were welcomed by manager Cyriel, who's the son of founder Piet. We took the starters and the apéritif on the terrace outside, which was really pleasant since we had good weather and the street wasn't too crowded. To our surprise, the seats on the 1st floor right next to the kitchen were free and we could watch the whole menu being prepared! We chose for the Likoké menu, which was perfect for us... It was a journey through different parts of the world, with some real explosions in taste. Some nice appetizers, followed by Belgian fries and mussels. After that we had Bobotie, which is from South Africa and Ajiaco from Colomb...
The food was really extraordinary: such tasty food, often with a columbian touch, the wines were so well chosen in line with the different type of ingredients. The service was just impeccable: friendly, at ease, super professional! The visit to the kitchen was so nice and gave us a bit of insight in the “heart” of the restaurant. We come back as soon as possible and we hope you get the next stars soon. You deserve them! You can be proud on what you have realised over the years with the whole team! An experience very similar. Excellent creative food paired with an even better alcohol-free companion. We have also preferred to emphasize these with regard to wine production. The service is friendly and endeavored, but you can see that no professionals work here. However, there was even a tour through the restaurant which really enjoyed. Without going into detail, in general there was a little bit of salt missing, but this was compensated by the overall experience (we had one of the 2 Chefs Table). Recommendation: Reserve the Chefs Table above. Mega!
We went to likoké following a recommendation from a few friends, but honestly I didn’t know it was Colombian and Venezuelan cuisine, if I knew I wouldn’t have been there because I don’t like exoticism. However, after the second dish, I began to love it because everything is very well prepared. the kindness of m. huysentruyt and all his assistants and the incredible wines we have bus, something rare and very positive. This gourmet restaurant is an incredible experience. Probably one of the most beautiful decouverts, whether in the plate or in the atmosphere and dynamics of the team. It's hard to say what dishes we've made, they were amazing. A mellow and unpublished makeleine to finish with finesse and greed. Congratulations to the whole team. Inventive and very good cuisine, very friendly staff and listening, discovering the dishes served with a visit to the kitchen, damage that the service is a little long and the music a little strong, for a starred restaurant. But in general it remains a very good experience.
