Food amazing. Unlimited lobster tails which are juicy, tender and fresh. Unlike Crown buffet only offer 1 lobster tail per person at extra cost. Oysters fresh and big. Staff very attentive and empty dishes on table cleared immediately. Feel safe with all stations manned by chefs who plate the food for us with additional staff ensuring diners walk one direction to keep everyone safe and orderly. Desserts are top quality, especially the matcha cake. Although food and staff efficiency at top level, the place looks the same for many years. Melba restaurant does not consider vegans at all. The lunch buffet had a wide range of cuisines but failed to deliver any vegan options besides a chickpea salad and dry tofu sushi. The Indian section of the buffet only had 1 vegetarian option (with cream,...not suitable for vegans) and the Carvery section only offered a cauliflower soup with cream. As a vegan, I had to settle for salad some Broccoli. A restaurant of this calibre should offer vegan options as a standard. It was like stepping back in time to the old days when people thought all food had to have animal by-products in it to taste good. Very disappointing.

Maybe they used better things, but it was nothing special. coffee was simply in order, rührei was better than most, but the rest was best mediocre. my search continues for the best breakfast in melbourne, but can not recommend this place.

it's been a few years since we thrive in melbas, but it's still up there as one of the best buffet restaurants in melbourne. many choices, seafood, roast, pasta, sushi, Indian, desserts and much more. $9 for an orange juice is a...bit round. dinner is also not cheap, at $150 p/p. so it is really a place to go for very special functions. the service is good, and the view over the yarra flow to melbourne cbd is great in the evening.
I surprised my wife for her birthday and we stayed here for a few night. We enjoyed both buffet dinner and breakfast. Both buffets were comprehensive but quite expensive. Dinner at $140pp is especially so. Its a lovely hotel and we had an overall very...good experience.
Took my little brother here recently, wish id stayed home and cooked myself. If im paying $300 for two people, the food had better be fresh and the chef had better be more skilled than I am, im no chef btw. At Melba, u get...neither. Hard pass.
Loved the seafood and view ! The Indian food was lovely and the desserts were delightful. Steak and pork was average. Would be nice to have an extended seating time. Good service. My kids loved the ice cream station.

My ultimate favourite all buffet here in Melbourne! They have huge selections of cuisine and most is cooked fresh in front of you If you love seafood you have to go here. Fantastic views is the city as well!
This is a beautiful restaurant where the food service is completely impeccable. A beautiful selection of champagne served with class style befitting of The Langham Hotel.
