Hibachi dinner in Chantilly with several options to choose from. Employees were really friendly and accommodating to our 7 person group. It seemed to take a while before our chef came to our table, but once he arrived the food finished quickly. Ichose the hibachi chicken and shrimp. It comes with grilled veggies, lo mein, fried rice and the protein. Fried rice and lo meinwere delicious. Really flavorful and you are provided 3 sauces to use. Both the chicken and shrimp weren't seasoned very wellin my opinion. All that was used was salt and pepper and I usually enjoy more flavorful protein. It was cooked well but I wishthere was at least some kind of spice to it. Other people at my table order...
I absolutely love Otani Japanese Steak House! It’s my go-to spot for treating myself on special occasions. The food is cooked perfectly—never dry—and seasoned just right. The chefs are not only highly skilled but also incredibly charming and entertaining. One of my favorite moments is when they toss a small piece of shrimp for you to catch, which always adds some fun to the meal. To top it all off, you get a complimentary scoop of vanilla ice cream. The portions are generous, so you’ll definitely have leftovers to take home!
UPDATE: Otani Japanese Steak House no longer offers a sushi lunch buffet. However, Otani remains one of the few restaurants where you can enjoy hibachi-style meals cooked right in front of you. We brought the family and had a great time with delicious food. The menu features fresh ingredients, and the staff is friendly. It’s a fun place for everyone to enjoy.
I'm so happy things are returning to normal. We’ve missed family dinners with great entertainment. The food was exceptional, full of flavor, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and attentive, always keeping our drinks refilled. The sushi was excellent too.

Clean, super helpful staff, talented chefs, and delicious food. We enjoyed the show and had plenty of food left to eat tomorrow. They prefer reservations but you can usually make them the day of if needed. I love the salmon and shrimp with fried rice.
Fun atmosphere, great tasting food, great portions (minimum 2 meals worth of food for each entree) and good saki selection. You get what you pay for, and you get a lot. This is a memorable hibachi experience I look forward to enjoying again.
Great food. Nice atmosphere. Includes soup, salad, and ice cream. Chairs seats could have a pad... very hard wood. Not all the table chefs are equal. Some are better than others.

I don't understand the 3 star ratings. This is hands down the best Japanese steakhouse in the area. Even though we live in McLean, my kids beg to come here...
We have been dining at Otani's since they opened many years ago. Even though we moved out of the area, we still make the trip to OTani's for special treat.
