Positives are that the waiting staff were all friendly and prompt. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. The meal was at best mediocre, the pasta portions were fairly small and the sauces were watery. The garlic pizza bread was also soggy and actually just a pizza base with tomato sauce, I genuinely couldn't taste any garlic and as my daughter hates tomatoes she wouldn't eat any whereas she loves real garlic bread. However, my real issue is the price. £83. For 2 adults and two children. No alcoholic drinks, just lemonade and basic pasta dishes. It left a real sting in the evening. Sadly won't be returning.
Very slow service. 40mins from order till we got our starters, we were there nearly 2 hours before our mains arrived felt as if we had been forgotten about! Many tables had arrived after us and been served before and already left before we’d had anything to eat. Waiter seemed to only remember us when he’d walked past us multiple times and seen us without food and then seemed to rush our starters out of the kitchen without apology. Additionally, at the end of all this the food could be described as mediocre at best. Would like to think this was due to it being a busy evening but won’t be rushing back.
Very disappointing lunch. Service was slow and we had to ask 3 times for drinks that we had ordered. The rest of the party's food was OK but 2 lasagnes were terrible. A lump of hard pasta in the middle of the plate covered in tomato sauce. No white sauce and not a sight of cheese on it. When we came to pay they didn't want to split the bill as we were paying individually and I had to ask 3times for separate bills. The waiter wasn't happy with this and rolled his eyes. He even took back the chocolates that were on the plate. We won't go again!
Opted for lunchtime special ravioli for £9 when it came it was 4 pieces of ravioli with sauce on a plate with one cherry tomato. Could have had a bowl of pasta for £12 so no comparison with price and portion size. When paying bill was asked how food was so said ok but 4 pieces of ravioli for 9 quid not acceptable. This did not go down well and was told i was the 1st person to complain but that was ok. What on earth has happened to this place have been coming here since it opened no tip left and won't be returning Reserva una mesa ahora
I was so looking forward to a traditional Italian but was a little disappointed with the food. It's not bad but I've been to better Italians with more delicious food. It was just uninspiring and a bit boring. It was also pretty uncomfortable as the chairs were hard. Not sure I'll bother again. A shame as there are hardly any Italian restaurants in our area of Cornwall. It seems quite popular at lunchtime though. Maybe I should have had the pasta which looked better than my meat dish.
Food wasn't too bad, its just the service, it wasn't terrible but just felt like an inconvenience as others have said. Shame, grew up in Truro and this has been around for years. Place was rammed though so maybe just wrong timing. Unfortunately won't be going back as a consequence of this visit though.
We had a very good experience here before going on to the Hall for Cornwall. The service was quick but not rushed, the food was of a very good quality and very reasonably priced. Decor is somewhat dated, but if you are look for tasty Italian food and prompt service, we would throughly recommend
