PROs: Our meal was very good, and from what we saw and overheard, those of surrounding diners were also very well prepared and well received by the diners. We had the seared-scallop starter and the lobster thermidor, making this one of our two somewhat extravagant dinners, but in our opinion worth the price.The view is nice even if you are seated inside, but if (recommended) you are able to sit on the covered porch, and the weather is good (it was perfect the evening we ate here), the view of the waterfront is spectacular.Service was efficient and friendly. The fish and chips ( homemade potato chips) are beyond excellent. I grew up in a fishing community in Nova Scotia but have never really liked battered fish until now. The Rum Runner uses a rice flour batter which is lighter and more flavourful plus the fish is very fresh! Also, it is gluten free and is safe for people with Celiac Disease. We go to the Rum Runner every chance we get and it is always delicious. The deck overlooks beautiful Lunenburg harbour. They warned us when we came in that the kitchen was behind and we would have to wait over 30 minutes after ordering, but we had nowhere to be so we didn't mind. The food was fantastic and worth the time. I had the seafood crepe and my husband had the pan-fried haddock and they were both delicious. The dessert was the fluffiest key lime pie ever! The chef personally came out and checked to make sure everything was going well. Overall, a great dinner!

I think the other reviews of this restaurant must be purchased. This was a horrible experience with all three of our meals being bad. The chowder was horrible, way too saturated with flour, the salad was dripping with Ceasar dressing so badly it was a little bit of romaine with your dressing. We won't be back.

Great location, great view, great staff but when asked for a dairy free vegetarian chowder I got broth with carrots and potatoes. I thought they would use coconut milk. Everyone else enjoyed their meal

The photos on the website do not accurately capture the beauty of the Rum Runner Inn's location or the amazing views from the rooms. Our room had a waterfront view that was truly breathtaking.

Seafood crepe was amazing, my hubby had the fish burger - the last day we opted to skip some of the more touristy spots and went back for cold wine and oysters! The chowder was amazing!

Restaurant was understaffed but in fairness it was a very busy week in Lunenburg. Food was great - lobster thermador, fish masala, seafood crepes. Good wine list. Would recommend .

Had the fish and chips and was amazed at how good the fish was. The service was excellent! Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.
