So here's the deal... It's memorial day, and a barbecue plans got squashed. Thanks to yelp, you're able to find a new barbecue restaurant, located near our home. To our surprise, smoked bites, really hit it out of the park for such a small establishment. One of the owners was very accommodating and informative (I'll get back to the other owner in a little bit) and waitstaff was very friendly, and sociable. The location is quite hidden being the fact that we've never been here in all the years even living in the area, but the restaurant recently had an upgrade and has been redesigned to a clean and sleek look. I was very happy with their corn beef, empanadas, their Ziggy sandwich, and the mix...
Let's get this out of the way: the meat is the star of the show. The brisket is juicy, flavorful, and tender enough that you'll think that you ended up in a fancy steakhouse rather than a much more reasonably price neighborhood place. That said, the appetizers are a bit more hit and miss: really liked the cornbread and the sauces that came with the fries but the fries themselves were just OK. Prices were what I expected for a kosher restaurant in this area. Overall recommended but just remember to double up on the meat wherever you can :
Important note about all reviews here: The restaurant went came under new management within the last 6-8 months and older reviews are from when the store was under the previous owners. The ambiance was nice and the food was amazing. With generous portion sizes, great prices and meats that were amazing this was an all-round superb dinner. I also had the ice cream for dessert, which is made in house by the way, and it was a delicious way to cap off a most wonderful night.
Excellent smoked meats and chicken. Wide variety of house made charcuterie that tasted like they should. Stan is a pleasure and all around great guy. I've been there 3 times so far, and each time was thrilled with the food. I highly recommend, which coming from me (as a trained chef) is saying a lot.
