Slanted Door San Ramon

This isn't the Slanted Door we remember. The portions were small, especially given the high prices, and the food was at best average. For instance, the shaking beef was a poor cut and overcooked. Overall, dining here felt underwhelming and not worth the cost. Additionally, automatically adding a 20% tip to our bill was insulting. Our server was great and would have earned that tip anyway, but for the restaurant to assume it was deserved and remove the customer's choice is quite arrogant.

Every drink and dish is outstanding, definitely some of the best in the area. However, the service is remarkably inattentive and slow. A 20% tip is automatically added to every bill, which seems to have contributed to the servers adopting a relaxed attitude, as they only come back to check on you after about 30 minutes. Be prepared to spend at least 1.5 hours for your meal.
