I would give Sonic Drive In zero stars if possible. Last night, my husband and I went there because I’m nearly 25 weeks pregnant and very hungry. We waited at least 30 minutes after ordering through the app. When my husband went inside around 7:35 PM to check, he found all the staff had long since left. There were many other customers waiting for food that never arrived. Although the hours say they close at 9:00 PM, they apparently closed early without notifying anyone or updating the app. The worst part is that my card was still charged despite not receiving any food from their menu. I spoke with the manager, who admitted they had closed early but didn’t close the app or turn off the lights...

I wanted to share my experience at this location, which has been drive-thru only for the third consecutive week. While I can understand the situation, waiting in line for 30 minutes is simply unreasonable. As I sit here, I can't help but feel frustrated by how the information has been communicated. It seems like the attitude is that they "put the chains up" to imply that the inside stations might be closed, which adds to the frustration. It feels like I'm expected to wait in line until happy hour ends, which seems counterproductive to the promotion they're offering in the first place. This restaurant would benefit from implementing more efficient systems to improve daily operations. The staff seem to be on a mission to demonstrate just how unreasonable the notion of raising the minimum wage is. Don't expect a typical fast food experience here; plan to spend at least an hour to get your lunch. Instead of mobile orders, it might be more efficient if customers could prepare their own food in the drive-thru. I'm sure that would still take at least 30 minutes. I waited over an hour just to get some ice, only to be told that they wouldn't bring it because the store was already closed, despite us placing our order an hour before closing time. That's the third time this happened. I often come here because of working time and customer service with going through is great, but the chefs regarding order processing and order processing are absolutely terrible. And you wonder why Chick-fil-A is who they are. Every time I don't pickles no onions no salad no tomatoes yes it comes up there and today I made it a point to ask the window You don't have pickles no onions right and he said yes, this is ridiculous only young children there is no management presence, no matter what please don't spend your money in this sonic and help with this issue a big problem in our country!!!!

The Strawberry fruit slush with extra fruit from Sonic Drive-In was perfectly mixed—truly one of the best I've ever had. It was sweet as it should be, packed with flavor and plenty of extra fruit. I visited the Sonic in Alabaster last week, and unfortunately, they gave me a slush that was just white ice. The carhop said it “probably didn’t get mixed right” but didn’t offer to replace it. So, big kudos to this Sonic location for getting my slush just right. The service was fast, and the carhop addressed me respectfully and thanked me. Definitely a great choice from the Sonic menu!

We arrived 15 minutes before closing and first tried through the ride thru. As soon as we got to the speaker, there were no employees. We tried to take their attention, but no one took our order. Then we went to the Drive In stations and pressed the button. We waited five minutes for no answer. At this point we just went somewhere.

My burger was good. The onion rings were fresh and good. My fries, however were room temperature cold and slightly soggy. This makes me feel like they were sitting out or cooked way before my order was placed. This tells me there is lack of management or consistency when it comes to providing fresh cooked food. Food was real good. Quick and friendly service. But the sign says the patio is open at 8 am but the inside is locked at 1145 am and the order booths are closed with no explanation. Drive through only. We ate at the outside patio which was nice.
