Food was great. It tastes authentic and fresh. The menu has many dining options. There is a full bar attached to the restaurant. The drinks are great. They have daily specials on drinks. I got the taco platter with carne asada and Al pastor tacos. Both were delicious and flavorful. The tacos were filling. The rice and beans were also great. The tostada was also great. The margaritas are delicious and strong. There is plenty of seating available. Parking is ample. The restaurant is clean. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this spot if you're in the area and looking for delicious and flavorful Mexican food. I will be making another visit...
I visited this restaurant last night to celebrate my sister's birthday and I highly recommend it. The Border Nachos were phenomenal – the meat was fantastic, making it the best nachos I've ever had. We also enjoyed some Marylou Margaritas, flavored tequila shots, and añejo tequila. The owner produces her own organic tequilas, and they were the best we've tasted. We even bought a bottle to take home. We also tried the carne asada, lomo de rez en chile verde (a perfect choice for spice lovers), and the beef fajitas. The staff was awesome – friendly and attentive, creating a wonderful atmosphere. I’m sure you’ll love it as much as we did!
Wow! This place is truly authentic. I didn't recognize some of the dishes, but I decided to go with the tacos and a margarita. The pastor tacos were amazing, especially with the grilled pineapple chunks mixed in. The cecina was a large, thinly sliced piece of meat that was incredibly tender. The restaurant was bustling with customers, and there were constant orders being picked up, so we had to wait a bit, but the staff was friendly and very accommodating. I will definitely be returning.
The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. They had karaoke, which was a lot of fun; however, the music was so loud that I could barely think, making it difficult to hold a conversation with anyone. The prices were a bit high too; I ended up paying around $40 for just two margaritas and some guacamole chips.

El Jefe Burrito offers an incredible meal! And at just $20? I was absolutely impressed by both the shop and the food. The service was also very quick. I ordered the chicken and chorizo mix, which was juicy and flavorful. I just wish I had saved some space for the tempting desserts!
Great food! I really enjoy the self-service horchata dispenser; it’s much better than at other Mexican restaurants where they fill your cup halfway with ice. The tray with jalapeño, carrot, and chile toppings is also a nice touch!
This has been one of our favorite spots in Des Plaines for a few years. It's a nice atmosphere with quick yummy food. I am completely addicted to the carrots at the salsa bar.
I visited this restaurant for the first time tonight, and everything was fantastic! I highly recommend the Marylou Margarita – it was absolutely delicious!

Delicious tortas made with fresh, locally sourced bread. Generous portions and a staff that is very welcoming to families.
