We complained there was not enough meat pieces in the beef curry and immediately were brought out a new dish with plenty of meat to keep us satisfied. Restaurant said they did not receive my online booking but it was a Thursday night in Belconnen so plenty of free tables.Food quality was great. Food ordering haphazard and slow and the staff seemed to be disorganised.Also can you turn the television off. No one comes out to a restaurant to watch TV. How annoying! We might as well have been at home having a TV dinner. We asked the waitress if she seriously thought people wanted the TV on and that clearly no one was watching it and could she please turn it off. She didn't turn it off so it was a bit of a spoiler.
The food at Thai Chiang Rai was very tasty but was more directed at Western taste buds. I was looking for the more authentic Thai flavours I experience when in Thailand and these were missing. Still the food was good and the service was also good but for a genuine food experience I will look to other Thai restaurants for this. If you have never been to Thailand you will find this food satisfactory.
We came here a few years ago and the food was quite good. We thought we'd try it again and it was an exceptionally disappointing night out. We ordered a duck dish which was hard, overcooked and way too salty. The entrees were cold and unappetising.Unfortunate, but we won't be back.

Delicious and reliable Thai at this Belconnen restaurant. The menu is comprehensive and is good for both take away and dine-in. Always pleased with many of the options here - never let down.This appears to be a related restaurant to the one in Kingston, which is also excellent.
Thai Chang Ria provides the usual Thai menu, and is vey good quality and value for money. Plenty of space means suitable for groups. Lovely lake views are obtained. Service is always good. We are frequent visitors for past decade. Take away is also very good.
Met with son's family for casual birthday dinner. Had some of the best thai food in Canberra. The entrees were very fresh and tasty and the mains excellent. Recommend the satay chicken, the chilli pork and Masarma beef.
We enjoy going to this restaurant. The menu is extensive, it allows BYO wine (they charge per person), the service is excellent, the food tasty, the only negative is that the portions are smaller than we expect.

Every time our friends visit from Berri NSW, they insist on dinning at this Restaurant. The food is consistently good and the service is friendly and quick. It is BYO wine.
