I?ve made a terrible mistake. For the life of me I am not sure why this place was not on my radar sooner, but my wife suggested it for our anniversary dinner. After reviewing the menu and pics we gladly made the reservation. I am glad we did as everythingfrom the food to the room to the great service exceeded our expectations. Well done! Please do start with a fine cocktail andthe well curated cheese plate. Then it is off to the meat. Both of our steaks was perfectly done and delicious. Make haste tothe Commodore!
A really swanky place, replete with silver-framed mirrored hallways and walls, to a Deco bar that will make you catch your breath. Dine here, lounge here, cocktail here, be seen here...it's a luxurious getaway with that speakeasy feel thatgangster-era St. Paul is famous for. Happy hours are best...but an hour is best if you're feeling like sporting for somethingdecadent. Casual, dress-up, or just hanging with your friends, you'll find the Commodore more than a little welcoming.
We went there recently for cocktails and a few appetizers. The Old Fashions were excellent, but we were very disappointed in the Crab Cakes. They did not appear to be house made. We also tried the scallops and they were good, but a bit overpriced for thethree fairly small scallops we were served. The ambiance, cocktails, and friendly staff still made for a nice evening.
M wife and I came here for drinks for our 10 year anniversary. What a gem! Our bartender Jason went above and beyond our expectations with offering us advice on drinks and prompt service. A wonderful experience and I would highly recommend theCommodore as a late night cocktail stop, especially for the gin aficionado.

This place is amazing. And they have a parking lot. The seating arrangement, with both lounge seating and dining throughout the various rooms is one of my favorite parts of the experience. Service and atmosphere is wonderful, whether to sit down and have a cocktail or for dinner.
This elegant restaurant is simply stunning. The lamb and lobster deviled eggs are absolutely delicious. The service was top-notch and the bar is fantastic. I will definitely be coming back.
The atmosphere is very romantic and elegant. The waitstaff did an excellent job!
Super fancy. Wear your speak easy clothes and you'll fitin perfect. Good place.
