The Mad Dog Cafe & Market

There isn't a lot going on tourist-wise in Deadman's Flats - 2 gas stations, 2 restaurants, and some hotels. The more interesting and reliable food place is Mad Dog Cafe. There's just a small selection of hot foods, but they are really quite good. There are more items in the deli display. The ambience inside is very nice, and when we've been here, there have always been a few people around having an nice rest. When we were there recently, it was a bit hot inside (no AC) so we sat outside in the noise of the highway, but that was still not bad. Our food came and curry is very nice, and nicely presented. This place is a little out of the way in Dead Man's Flats, but just off the highway and very much worth a stop. It's truly a hidden gem, with delicious, authentic curries and chutneys, and staff that prepare your food with love. The coffee and chai is also delicious. It's hardly ever busy. Highly recommended.

I am a great fan of Indian cuisine and I often spend Indian food. I can honestly say this is by far the most delicious food I had in a long time! Remembered the feasts for the license I was treated in Manchester. And the Chai mmmm... when am I now in Canmore????????????

This is a fantastic spot to eat and unwind. Dawn creates the most amazing curries and all of the food is delicious. Be sure to stop by while on your way to the mountains - you won't want to miss it! I highly recommend paying this place a visit.

Love the authentic curry here. Always a great meal. The staff always have a smile and the owners are awesome. Over the years we have had so many great experiences here and continue to introduce friends to this great place.
