I was looking for a place that was different. I came across the crazy hunter, but to be fair, I hadn't heard of it. I had a quick look at the menu and I was already drooling lol. at least my sister and her partner were from Scotland and he is also chef. from the moment we entered to go, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. oliver was on the spot and was curious to explain about the menu. eating was excellent in every sight, one of the best experiences I had in a long time. I recommend you log in and try it yourself. they will not be disappointed. it is small and cozy, but the decor is tastefully made. great to see so talented in our opposite.
Went there Saturday 24th February for a family celebration. We were welcomed at the door and our coats taken. Sat down with the menu and the guy (sorry forgotten his name) came over to help us decide on our drinks. Explained all about the amazing selection of gins. I had the recommended one with ginger ale and it was delicious. Helped us choose the wine which was only the house wine but it was really good. All of us had 3 courses and the food was really good, so nice to have different things on the menu. Will vist again. X
absolutely fantastic. ollie was a great host and had many top info about our eating and drinking. the menu had a good choice and I will be happy to try some specials and the kitchen table evenings again. I had the wild boar burger who was exceptional, like the rest of the food we ate. everything in all was a beautiful evening with amazing dining and service in a great restaurant with perfect ambiente. could not be better.
It was our first visit last night but it was faultless. A warm welcome awaited us before we looked at the amazing menu. The food was exceptional and cooked to perfection. We drank a bottle of the house white wine which was lovely as recommended by Oliver. Oliver's knowledge of wines is complimented by the high standard of food offered. Myself and Mr G enjoyed a splendid evening, last night, at The Mad Hunter Chefs Special Night. The food was truly excellent, creative and delicious and the wine pairings were fantastic! Thank you to Oliver and Travis for such a wonderful night, oh and the complimentary glass of fizz on arrival to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary was a lovely touch!
I had a birthday dinner with friends and was not disappointed. service is really good staff are very friendly and attentive and eating was fabulous! I had the surf and the raze to then begin the cortex, the bark was so tender that it simply melted in my mouth. many gin to choose. try it, I'm sure you're back, I know it will be!
