Walked in there at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon for some drinks and to play pool. Put money in the pool table and within minutes the staff are telling the customers to come over and ask in front of the whole pub if we are going to buy a drink? Humiliating and absolutely ridiculous. Obviously we were going to buy a drink, maybe give us chance before shouting in a pub? Will never step foot in here again. This is how to lose customers. Would put 0 if I could.
Although I live locally I wasn’t really aware that the wine bar existed and that it was available to rent for private parties. It was perfect for this special family party with plenty of room to lay out the food and for people to sit or to mingle. An added bonus was the view from the windows overlooking the village square with the stocks and fish stones. Definitely recommend it either to call in for a glass (or two) of wine or for a party.
Lovely atmosphere, barmaid was fabulous, very down to earth and friendly. £13.00 for 2 drinks though? Come on, whoever sets the prices of spirits and shots needs to have really good look at this area. We would have happily stayed all afternoon in this pub but we don't drink beer and my lottery win hasn't happened yet, so we went back to Wetherpoons.
Treated horribly as young people just coming for a drink for a mates birthday and his funeral tomorrow. ‘Member of staff’ with no uniform checking us all and just not feeling welcome in a pub we don’t live far from. KAREN made us feel horrible Reserva una mesa ahora
The Old Town Hall is quite a traditional pub and definitely not a wine bar. Half a dozen handpumps offer a range of changing cask ales and like most other pubs in Poulton CAMRA discount is offered.
Top quality service and facilities,cannot praise the manager and her staff enough,perfect example of everything you would want for an afternoon socialising with friends
Agree with the previous reviewer, they need to remove the term ‘Wine Bar’. They serve that revolting ‘Jack Rabbit’ stuff which is an insult.
