The Ship Inn - Reservar una mesa

My husband and I went to The Ship Inn for Sunday lunch on September 3rd. We both ordered the roast Angus beef with Yorkshire pudding, gravy, and mixed vegetables, including roasted parsnip. The beef was so tender that we didn't even need a steak knife. The staff accommodated my request for a low-fat meal due to my gallstones by leaving out the rich white sauce. The only thing I would change if I were the chef is to not place the meat on top of the roast potatoes, as it made them less crispy. Despite that, the potatoes were still delicious. I have dined at this restaurant before and the food was excellent. However, my husband's dish (fish and chips) was not up to par, while my roast beef was okay but could have used more gravy. I had to ask twice before receiving any, which was disappointing. The staff, on the other hand, were delightful and very friendly.

I ordered the polenta cake with corn, charred broccoli, and pistachio salad, while my partner opted for the pork and plum sausages. Our server, Jack, provided excellent service. My partner thoroughly enjoyed their meal, and mine was also delicious.

This pub is a great spot for watching football, with plenty of screens and a separate area for those who are not interested in the game. They offer a good variety of beers on tap and also have a spacious decked area out back for smokers.

Great pub. Welcoming, lovely atmosphere and a good lunch. There was something for the whole family despite different preferences and tastes.
