"Recently reopened in Mowsley, Lutterworth after a long closure. Went on a Thursday evening and the welcome was very warm and friendly from Steve. I had the chicken tikka masala and it was lovely. My son decided upon the fish and chips and he said it was one of the tastiest he had had for a long time. We bumped into the chef towards the end of the evening and paid him compliments which were fully deserved. Will definitely return, and in fact we are for Mother's Day. I would certainly recommend visiting the Staff of Life."

A village pub with a good ambience. Lovely to see everyone come into the pub with their dogs after the local shoot. It created a nice country vibe. I had been looking forward to trying the food at the Staff of Life. However, due to time constraints, I opted for a quick bite to eat rather than a main meal. I ordered loaded nachos and was very disappointed to find that none of the ingredients were fresh. The toppings were what I 'd call 'fake food ' straight from a bottle. The guacamole was bright green, obviously full of food colouring. The salsa had never seen a tomato in its life and the cheese was a processed liquid. Why opt for fake toppings when it takes a few minutes to make them fresh?...

Venue is lovely and feels extremely welcoming when you enter. The waiting team were fab, extremely attentive and friendly. However what let the trip down was the food. We paid £6 for prawn cocktails. Put it this way, somoene in the part ate the two pieces of bread and the sauce and left the lettuce, we joked that she was leaving £4.50 worth of lettuce. Honestly, they shouldnt have come out of the kitchen, there were literally 5 shrimps (not prawns) and about a table spoon of dressing, if that. The carvery....... The meat was fab, could not fault the meat in the slightest. Frozen yorkshire puddings, Carrots so overcooked they were black and like mush. Parsnips again, black. Green beans that s...

My wife and I had the Sunday lunchtime carvery. We were greeted with a lovely friendly welcome from Steve the owner. The ambience could not have been better as the pub was relatively busy but there remained sufficient room to order the pre lunch drinks. The place was very clean and the decorations were impressive. The food, we had the beef, was perfectly cooked and plentiful, the vegetables were both excellent and freshly cooked. It was the best carvery we have eaten in a very long while. We will definitely return but I suggest you book first as when we left it was very busy
