This was my first time trying this restaurant as I couldn't find a decent Roast Dinner in Blackpool. My first impressions were very good as the restaurant was clean and welcoming. The menu looked really good, with a few options for a Roast Dinner. I chose the Rib of Beef on the bone and my partner had Roast Turkey. Everything was delicious, especially the gravy and the rib of beef which was rich and flavourful. Our drinks were served promptly by a man named Ben who was friendly and professional. I'm still feeling disappointed we paid £60 for our meal. It wasn't nice at all. My son was given one of those frozen deep pan pizzas that you warm up in the microwave. My pie was hard and there was barely any filling inside, I had to spit some of it out as there was gristle aswell. Then it was repeating on me for a few hours after. My partner said his was dry and he didnt enjoy it. I can cook much better than this at home, I just wasn't in the mood that night. So I'm disappointed we wasted our money. The staff were friendly enough. I won't be coming back.
My wife and I had an excellent meal here this week. Both had the 10oz Sirloin which was one of the best cooked tastiest steaks we had in ages. Great choice of deserts. The service was excellent. Having enjoyed the meal so much we wanted to book a family meal for twenty guests but unfortunately they were unable to cater for parties this size midweek. They offered to get the manager to call back but they failed to call me back but still waiting. Shame they let themselves down at the end as we really enjoyed our day.
Enjoyed our meals can't complain about that at all. However, some of the staff could actually smile at you when they serve you. Young lady didn't crack a smile once and we felt like an inconvenience. Let's hope the manager notices and has a word..it doesn't hurt to make someone's experience a good one by giving service with a smile.

Perfect meal served with our favourite drinks.. thank you. It is such a nice place to dine or just to have a relaxing drink. We went a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed the squid and mixed grill. Today as they had sold out of the sqid I ham ham terrine which was just as good. My family also enjoyed the meal. We was greated by Curtis who made sure we was ok, the rest of the staff was also friendly. I would recommend a visit.
We have enjoyed lunch at Thornton Lodge a few times now, and each visit has been very pleasant. The staff is friendly, the food is excellent, and we appreciate having a vegan option available. We highly recommend this charming country pub.
Really good place to have dinner. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The Rump steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare), The steak pie was crammed with steak, beautiful crust and a heavenly gravy!

Lovely local pub to us. Always a warm welcome..polite staff. I had the Korean Chicken dish it was absolutely delicious and my wife had the Beef Sunday roast which she said was excellent as always.
Fantastic!!! The food was amazing, and the staff was excellent. The steak and ale pie was the best I've ever had. My brother and mother both had the steak and said it was excellent.
