This was the worst from walking into the door the dirty windows greeted us coming in the door along with uncleaned tables and friendly wait staff. My daughter had scrambled eggs that taste better than they looked. The waffle was thick and dense but yummy . My husband had bacon, grits, toast, eggs overheard 2 jelly packs. I had the hashbrown bowl with jalapeno added they had the nerve to use plastic cheese ? limp hashbrown that seemed more processed then the cheese. This was my first and last time visiting this Waffle House on Old National highway.
The service at this restaurant was terrible. It was our first time at a waffle house and when we arrived, the waiter was missing. They didn't have a pencil to take our order, so someone else had to do it. They mixed up our orders and didn't even remember which table the items were for. I had to figure out my order while my boyfriend sat there, and when I finally told the waiter, they still got it wrong. It was so frustrating that we didn't even want to eat the food anymore. Overall, it was a horrible experience for a first-timer.
I've never heard of not serving customers because you're doing a shift change and you have 7 people standing around gossiping/on their phone/laughing... I guess nobody in there knew how to quickly cook a waffle and scramble eggs? Usually the service is decent, but today was just disrespectful.
